"Omg which hospital is he at?!" I practically screamed into the phone in terror. Collins told me the hospital name and room number. I rushed there as fast as I could. I almost got a speeding ticket. When I got there I jumped out of my car and sprinted as fast as I could to Devan's room. Collins was already there. "What . . . Happened." I said shakily, trying to catch my breath. "Well. . . Devan was being Devan." He laughed a sad laugh. "We were going to go to the store with our mom. Devan called shotgun and I challenged him to a race. He sprinted away and just as I started to go after him a car appeared out of nowhere and hit him." He started crying. I wrapped him in a hug and started crying too.
An hour later the doctors said he was fine, just a fractured wrist. They said we could talk to him now that he was awake. "No duh." I said under my breath. Collins and I walked over to his bed and wrapped him in a group hug. "Devan you've gotta stop being stupid." Collins said. "I'm only following my role model. You." Devan said with a laugh. "Stupid Devan." I said as kissing his cheek. Just then the doctors came back into the room and said he could go home. "C'mon bro. Let's go home. I gotta surprise for you." Collins said. "As long as it's not strippers." Devan said. "One day maybe but not now." Collins said. I slapped Collins lightly and pushed Devan off of the bed. "Get off your lazy butt and let's go." I said. "Alright fine." He said. We went our separate ways and met back up at their house. "Are you ready bro?" Collins asked. He didn't wait for Devan's answer, he just opened the door and Devan and I gasped.
