Your mum had spent most of the day at your house and she was trying to get Calvin to speak and say 'mama' and 'dada' but Calvin couldn't care a less, he wasn't interested at all. He just turned away from your mum and thrust his arms towards you or jack, whoever was the closest to him at that time. This showed his anxiety towards strangers was starting to set in which is good, he was cooing and making noises.
He was small for 5 months old but he was extremely quick at progressing. He recognises his name when you say it, he's starting to sit up on his own which makes you and jack pleased that he is 100% healthy.
Your mum was ready to leave so you went to the front door with her to say bye.
"Bye mum, see you soon." You hugged her and kissed her cheek.
"You certainly will, I will need to see my gorgeous grandson," she chuckled, "He is beautiful Y/N. You're lucky to have jack every step of the way with you, and I know things can get tough but I know you'll get through it. I can see how much you love jack and Calvin and how much they mean to you and I'm just so proud of you," a tear ran down your cheek and you gave your mum another hug.
"She loves Calvin so much." Jack said with the 5 month old sat on his knee. You smiled and nodded walking towards them both.
"She thinks the world of him, she also seems to think we should start prompting Calvin to start babbling the words we say," jack looked at you and then looked straight back at calvin.
"Calvin, calvin, can you say mummy? Mama?," he just made a gurgling sound, making you both laugh.
"Calvin, baby, can you say dada? Dada,Dada,Dada," you repeated dropping your head onto jacks shoulder. He started to make noises so you pulled out your phone and started to record incase he said it you didn't want to miss it. He started to suck on his hands and making himself squeal, he made noises that sounded like he was singing a little song to himself.
"Da-da" he mumbled and just carried on like nothing happened. Me and jack shot up bolt right next to each other and I grabbed my phone and started recording again.
"Can you say that again? What did you say? Did you say dada?," you said and he looked at you.
"Da-da, da-da," you smile went so wide and you couldn't believe how quick he is growing up.
"Well done baby boy, you're so clever," you cooed, you stopped recording and leant down to kiss your son.
"I can't believe he's 5 months already, my little prince, I want another," jack said smiling down at you whilst you head was resting on his lap and he was playing with your hair.
"Ok ok, calm down," you chuckled. " I don't think I'm 100% healed from pushing this little one out yet, let's wait till he's at least 1 before we even think about having another one, we can talk about it then," jack nodded at your answer.
"You do want another one tho right?" He asked in a worried tone.
"Babe! Of course I do, Calvin needs a play mate," you kissed jacks cheek and got up to leave the room.
"I'll go start making lunch for us all."
