"I don't want to go mom!" I protested. She was forcing me to go to her friends Christmas party.

"You have to go East. I can't leave you here all by yourself. Besides, there is going to be tons of good food there." She said this while tugging my jacket on and lacing my boots.

After another ten minutes of arguing, she coaxed me outside and into the car. We drove for about thirty minutes and we hit the highway.

All I remember was dozing off and waking up being tossed back and forth in a rolling car. Mom was launched through the windshield and died on impact. That was the first day of the rest of my dreadful life.

I live with my Aunt Georgia. She and her husband got divorced yesterday and now we are on the long journey to mountainous Pennsylvania. Our destination: Tionesta.

I looked it up the night before and Tionesta is a small SMALL town with an almost miniscule population.

We pull up to a small white house. And on the left was a place called the 'Midtown Motel'. At least the view on the other side was cool. On the right were enormous mountains covered in fog. I read about that too. The fog stays for a while in the morning and dissipates as the day goes on.

"We're here!" Aunt Georgia squeals in delight. She seems to be thrilled to be away from her ex-husband. " Why don't you go inside and pick your room East? "

I get out of the car and grab a box to bring in with me. Why not get a little work out of the way? I opened the door with my free hand and step inside. The place seemed small on the outside but it was pretty decently sized on the inside. That'll probably change once the moving truck gets here and all of the clutter that is our belongings crowds the house.

I walk around the house and eventually make my way upstairs. There is a big landing connected to two rooms. The one on the left has an extremely dim light and the one on the right has no windows. I guess I'm going to claim the landing. Its not like I need to hide anything right? On the plus side, there is a deep bay window with plenty of light.

I open the box and set it on the floor. I pull out some blue string lights and wrap them around the railing blocking the stairs. Next I find a stack of pictures and push pins. I hang them up in the shape of a heart. ( cheesey I know )

I leave the rest of the contents in the box because I have nowhere else to set it.

I think I'm going to enjoy this place.

Thank you for reading my first chapter. I hope you will continue to read just to see where it goes. I'm not really sure where this is all going to end up, but eventually there will be some spice and romance. I'll hopefully update once a week if I can.
