Taekwoon
♗ He taints his soul
a little bit more♗A soft shade of blue floods the whole place as the neon sign lights up the store. Taekwoon enters, and the bell sitting atop the door lets out a quiet chime. His gaze aimlessly wanders the shelves of the store, eyes frantically searching for something to ease his troubled mind.
He heads towards the closest aisle, his thoughts drifting elsewhere like an unanchored ship in a sea of raging waters. His skin crawls at the sight of a disinfectant on the shelf, and he remembers the terrible sin he had committed.
Taekwoon hurriedly takes a few and dumps them on his cart, his hands shaking as he heads to the cashier. He hadn't noticed that he had begun to murmur a sentence repeatedly, "I didn't do it. I didn't do it. I didn't do it."
He battles with the guilt creeping beneath his skin and he clenches his jaw, his knuckles turning white at the pressure of his hold on the counter. The cashier pays him no mind as she speaks on the phone, absentmindedly scanning the products Taekwoon wanted to buy.
"...I know what I said but---wait, you did what?!" Taekwoon flinches as the cashier shrieks into the phone, "You idiot! I told you not to do that!"
Flames consume the cashier's eyes and it flashes with anger, burning a deep shade of green. But the anger vanishes as quickly as it had appeared, when her eyes land on Taekwoon's figure---mumbling incoherently and eyes darting everywhere while he twiddled his gloved fingers---and on the dozen disinfectants she had been scanning.
Her voice falters and she forgets the yelling on the other side of the phone, the report on the radio finally catching her attention.
"...the killer "Rose" is suspected to have committed yet another heinous crime, a dead body has been found near the..."
The cashier slowly puts the phone away from her ear, ignoring the stream of questions from her boyfriend, "Hello? Hellooo?! You can't just yell at me and then stop talking! What am I supposed to do now? Answer me!"
She lowers her voice and her lips quiver when she speaks, "I have to go."
Just as she hangs up and begins typing 911 on her phone, Taekwoon's eyes flash up to meet hers and the cold fear engulfs her. Her breathing catches in her throat at the sight of his hollow eyes and face that was void of any emotions.
A chill runs down Taekwoon's spine and he shivers, wrapping the jacket around him tighter and abruptly turning to leave. Distorted silence clogs his ears and it felt as though he was underwater, but he could clearly hear his frantic heartbeat.
He reaches the door in quick strides and takes a deep breath. When he releases the air he'd been holding in, he was finally able to hear the sound of the bell's chimes on the door, which was followed by the cashier's hysteric screams.
Taekwoon freezes midstep, he hesitantly turns back around and his eyes widen as his gaze falls on the body of the cashier a few feet away from him. And standing beside her was the familiar figure he'd seen by the river, holding a pair of scissors that were dripping with blood.
An eerie atmosphere hangs around the woman like a curtain of ghosts, making the hairs on Taekwoon's skin stand on edge. She was a phantom, her movements unseen by nothing but the howling wind outside the store---as even Taekwoon himself didn't know how she'd gotten here.
She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, staining the blonde locks with ruby red. She looks up at Taekwoon and a twisted smile curls on her lips, "You saw me by the river, didn't you?"
He made no move to confirm or deny her; he simply settled with just staring at her---an enigma he couldn't quite wrap his head around---as if that would answer the questions in his head. He didn't feel any fear and instead, he felt oddly calm.
She moves lightly, her footsteps like touches of feathers, and she brushes past him while tucking the scissors in the back of her jeans, but it did not fail to conceal the evidence of her crime for there was still blood on her hands.
Her blonde hair shimmers beneath the neon lights as she whirls her head towards Taekwoon when she was a few steps away from him, and she motions towards his car, "Come with me." An icy feeling of numbness settles into his heart and he didn't understand why, but he followed her into the car without a word.

Curious eyes peered behind a tall tree, watching as a child fumbles with something he couldn't quite see. The rough texture of the trunk began to dig into the skin of his hands but that didn't bother him or stop him from quenching the thirst to know.
He tries to step forward, to get closer, but his foot gets stuck on a root and he ends up falling on the ground. He quietly whimpers and winces at his bleeding knee. He takes a deep breath and tries to ignore the pain; he hauls himself up and groans quietly at the effort.
When he lifts his gaze back up, the child he had been spying on was already gone. He quickly steps out of his hiding spot and scans the area around. 'Where is the kid?' he thought.
"Boo," a soft voice whispers from behind him. He turns around and meets the other's eyes, and they stare at each other with stoic faces. The child murmurs, "You saw me just now, didn't you?"
The child's eyes were a dark brown---almost black---and he thought he saw something behind them, but he dismissed it as a trick of the light. He points at the other one's eyes, "I like your eyes."
The child blinks slowly, head tilting to the side with features that were clouded with confusion. But it was quickly wiped away by a neutral expression. The child speaks after a moment of hesitation, "Do you want to be my friend?"
