"Alright, move to the right a little bit."
Elena shifted her body slightly to the right, remaining the same face she had before. The scenery behind her was absolutely breathtaking, and there was no way she going to leave without taking some photos in front of it.
The screams and splashing of water from all of her friends was heard faintly in the background, but she didn't care about what was going on by the ocean, she just wanted a good picture for Instagram.
The other kids made fun of her for being so obsessed with her feed, except for one — Jack. He stayed behind with her and was the one actually helping her get the photos she wanted. It wasn't because he had a love for photography or anything of the sort, he just wanted to stay with Elena and get as much alone time with her as possible. This made Elena smile, knowing the boy just wanted to spend time with her. Perhaps that was the reason why she was taking so many pictures — to spend time with Jack. Jack knew this, too.
Elena wasn't the only one taking pictures like crazy that day. Nick and Amelia had been going crazy, too. These kids were from New York, so they didn't have a lot of opportunities for pretty sunsets by the warm beach and palm trees surrounding the sand. They all just wanted some pictures, almost as if taking pictures of it would help them keep the memories they were making with them forever. So, their picture obsession was pretty crazy. However, once they reached the ocean, after taking a few shots by the water, Nick and Amelia gave in and eventually started swimming with the rest of the kids.
Nick had gotten a lot of help by Sophia with his pictures, since she was truly talented with the art of photography. Amelia, however, found help with Wyatt. He had been following her around all day, taking pictures of her left and right. Not all of them on her phone, however, and not all of them with her knowledge. He admired the young girl, and was helping her for the same reason Jack was helping Elena.
"Alright, I think I got some good ones," Jack stated, handing the girl her phone back, "Wanna go swim with them now?"
"Yeah, sure. Thanks again for taking all these pictures. I know, I'm crazy." She said, standing up and walking over to him, both of them headed down towards the ocean.
"Don't mention it." He grinned.
As they reached the sand, they found where the rest of their friends had put their belongings, and began to take off her shoes and set them down, Jack doing the same. She, having her swimsuit underneath, began to slip off her jeans and crop top. She felt eyes on her, and smirked, knowing exactly whose they were.
She looked up, locking eyes with Jack. He had been admiring her the whole time, not even starting to take off his clothes. He already was wearing swim trunks, he just needed to take off his shirt. Unfortunately, he had been too distracted to make it that far.
He blushed, knowing he was just caught by Elena. Flustered, he began taking off his shirt and throwing it to the ground. Without even thinking, Elena found herself staring as well. He looked up, smirking at her, just like she had done to him before.
He grinned, "I guess we both got caught."
She rolled her eyes, and began running down towards the other kids. She couldn't explain the feeling. The sand crunching between her toes, the wind blowing through her hair, the sun beating down on her back — but she loved it.
She stood by the shoreline for a little while, watching the other kids. She saw Wyatt and Amelia farther to the side, definitely flirting with each other. She smirked, thinking of all the comments she was going to make to Amelia later on.
All of the silly jokes she was planning in her head were interrupted as she felt a strong force shoving her back, making her fall straight into the water. Just as she was getting ready to surface, she came up with an idea. She shot up, flailing her arms and gasping for air, coming in and out of the water frantically.
"Jack! I. Can't. Swim." She said between dramatic breaths. She was fake drowning — one of her specialties.
"Oh my god! Elena I had no idea." Jack said, swimming over to her, picking her up and holding her tightly against his chest. She then placed her hand on top of his head, stroking his hair. As he began to blush, she quickly pushed his head down, making him go underwater. He came up, gasping for air.
"What the hell, Elena?"
"I can definitely swim." She smirked.
He began splashing her lightly, turning into a bigger war. Soon, they all joined and began splashing and dunking each other into the water. It was hands down the most fun Elena had in a very long time.
