He was simple, but he soon became my world.
I didn't know anything about him, yet I felt like I had known him for years.
This was the first time I had ever experienced "love at first sight"
I found him adorable. It was a situation where you have this one guy you're interested in but you're not quite sure why. Everyone else thought I was crazy for feeling what I felt, but I didn't care.
I wanted to find out more about this boy. I didn't even know his name. I wet home and hung out with Nicole at her house. I asked her if she knew anything about my crush. She told me a lot.
"Yeah he went to my school last year. His name is Josh. We dated for a bit actually."
My mouth dropped at this new information. I asked her all of my questions.
"Why did you break up? What is he like? How long did you go out?"
He told me it was a mutual break up. After about a month, they both felt it wasn't working. She informed me about his personality. She told me he was different. I wasn't quite sure what she meant by that. But I didn't care. I found him intriguing.
Nicole then showed me a class picture from last year. He was even more adorable then. I stared at the picture, smiling.
For the rest of that week I spent my time thinking about him. Imagining what it would be like to actually talk to him rather than about him.
Until one day we spoke. He came up to me and sat down in the chair beside mine.
"Hello" he gushed. His voice was somehow much different from what I had imagined it to be.
"H-hi" I stuttered. What is happening.
"How are ya?"
"I'm fine thanks.. How are you?"
"Great, wanna go walk around?" He asked. I blushed and told him yes.
As we walked around the big school I got to know him a little better. He told me about how he plays the guitar and loves music and his big family. He was adopted. I was sweating so much as our conversation went on. I was afraid to say the wrong thing and make a fool out of myself but at the same time, I was happy I got to make anything out of myself.
He walked me to my class while I told him about me. My similar love for music, my drawing hobby and how I play the flute and piano. I was nervous while he looked at me, taking in my appearance. He scanned my medium length dark brown hair and my short legs. I didn't know what he though of me, but I hoped that he liked me.
We continued to meet at breaks to hang out, things were going well. When my birthday came around, I got to school and Josh was at my locker. He had chocolate in his hands and a smile on his face.
"W-what's all this?" I spoke as the pink rose in my cheeks.
"I wanted to know if you would go out with me." His voice softly asked
I let out a small giggle and said yes.
"Happy birthday" he gushed.
So it was official. My dreams came true and I couldn't hide my smile for the rest of the day.
I was so excited about what my life would be like now. I still didn't really know him that well and I did promise myself I wouldn't get into any relationships for my first year here until I figured out what everyone was like. Once again, I didn't care. My feelings for this boy were strong and I couldn't hold back.
