Since the messages are deleting themselves for whatever reason, I'm just gonna post the random periods of fluff because they're too good to let go and I'll die if I don't -u-

"I have an idea! Let's play a game or something!" Marble offered, bouncing slightly. Marble held a childish look in her eyes, her tone bursting with excitement."Maybe...hide 'n seek?"

Augustus giggled and nodded in agreement, also perking up. "You hide," he said, cupping his hands over his eyes. "I'll count to twenty."

Stifling a giggle, she nodded and slid off the couch, set on finding a good spot. She caught a glance of the fading golden rays of the sunset and smiled mischievously. Sprinting down the hallway, she called out, "Bet 'cha a hug you won't find me before sundown!" before sliding into a random room. Looking around, Marble could only guess that it was Augustus'. Her eyes scanned the room, looking for places to hide.

Augustus couldn't help but to laugh at Marble's bet, keeping his hands cupped over both eyes until he reached twenty. "Ready or not, here I come!" He called, though the young boy's voice wasn't at all intimidating like a giant's voice should've been.

Feeling a little flurry of excitement at his call, she dashed towards the nearest hiding spot, his closest. Wiggling herself through the crack in the door, she pulled a stray sock into a corner and took cover under it, trying her best to make it look like she wasn't there. Although she tried to keep her footsteps light as possible, she knew she'd made at least a bit of noise. Marble tried her best to muffle her quiet giggles.

Augustus searched and searched, peeking into every room, every nook, cranny, and crevice. Alas, he could not find the hidden girl. "Where the heck did you go?" He called, beginning to giggle.

Marble had to slap her hand over her mouth to quiet her laughter, a few noises managing to escape from her. She found this situation ironic, to be honest. This wasn't the first time she'd found herself hiding from giants, although this time, it was in much more pleasant setting. She didn't feel a trace of the instinctive fear that had been ground into her mind over the past few years. It was quite the opposite, actually. She'd never felt happier in...forever. Augustus was bringing a section of her that had almost died out a looong time ago. After a few minutes, Marble decided to be merciful and give her friend a hint. Sort of. The girl teleported a short distance to the nearest room, making sure he wasn't in it and tapping on a wall before returning back to the closest. She wasn't just going to hand out her location, after all.

Augustus jumped up, eyes widening at the sound of the faint tapping. He giggled and followed it into the room it'd came from, but saw no one. He frowned and tilted his head, turning on his heel before noticing a miniscule cutting board, coated in ink; the same one that Marble had pulled out of her bag during their first encounter. He walked over, then peeked into the closet. He began to laugh. "Found you."

Marble squeaked and slid under the sock. "Nuh-uh. There's nobody here, this just a sock. There is NO one in your closet. Except the monster who lives in it. He's chill though." Her voice was muffled under the sock, where she was secretly planning out an escape plan.

Augustus burst into a fit of giggles. "You sound a lot like someone I know," He said, then reached down and lifted the sock. "Hmm..."

Marble hissed and ran out of the closet. "Mission abort! I've been discovered!" she said into an invisible walkie-talkie while dashing across the floor. A quick look out the window confirmed that she'd technically lost the bet, as the sun was still poking it's cheeky little face over the horizon. "You'll never take me alive!" she cried, making a break for the bed.

Augustus yelped in surprise, bursting into another fit of giggles. He caught up with the sprinting girl, only walking about two steps. He scooped her up and cuddled her close, giggling and smiling down at her happily. "I win."

Marble flailed weakly, barely holding in a laugh. She pushed against him in a half-hearted attempt to escape. "Nuuuuuuuuuu that's not faaaaair. You have long legs," she whined, puffing up her cheeks like she was cross. It made her look like a toddler who didn't get what she wanted. Which was pretty much true. (Because Marble is my baby and NO ONE shall tell me otherwise. NOoOOOooOOooooOO one.)

XD ) "No, they're not thaaat long," Augustus argued. "You're just slow." He began to giggle. "Like a turtle." He coddled her, holding her close; the young boy obviously lacked physical contact, so he savored any hug/cuddle he got.

Marble finally gave up and went limp in his grasp, groaning with mock defeat. "No 'm nooooot," she complained into his shirt, her voice resembling that of a young child. Marble leaned back a little, looking him in the eyes and pouting. "Fine, if I'm a turtle then you're a daddy long legs," she concluded, flopping back onto him. "And a butt face," she whispered.

Augustus couldn't stop giggling, holding her close to him happily. "Spiders are scary, though. Especially the big ones," He muttered, stifling a laugh. "You're the butt face, actually."

"Excuuuuuse me?" The girl put a hand to her heart, looking offended. "Mr. Daddy Long Legs, how could you? I thought we were best friends." She narrowed her eyes at him, shaking her head. "You will pay for this offense at the hands of Marbline the spider queen!" Marble started playfully nomming his index finger, looking as evil as possible. Which wasn't really that much.

Augustus stuck his tongue out at the girl. "Well, we were, until you decided to call me a spider ANNND a butthead. Those things are not very nice." He couldn't help but to laugh when she began to nibble on his index finger. "Ow ow ow!! Stop! You're gonna kill me at this rate!"

Marble looked up at him and returned the action before breaking down into giggles. "Well, if we aren't friends, then I offer you NO MERCY," the tiny girl decreed, once again attacking him with noms. "Okie, I injected you with venom. Now you're gonna die and turn into a spider zombie," she stated calmly, snuggling into him with a childish grin.

Augustus squeaked, wriggling his finger as the miniscule girl nibbled on it. He giggled and poked her side, gently nudging her. "Stahp, that's so mean!" He cried, holding her against his chest affectionately. He cuddled her close, as if she were a little baby.

Marble let out a bubbly giggle at his touch, squirming like a ticklish worm. "Fiiiiiine, I'll stop it ya big baby." She gave in to her irresistible urge and gave him as best a hug as she could, snuggling into her friend's chest. "You know, you sounded like a mouse for a second there," she confessed, giggling.

Augustus rolled his eyes, giggling quietly as he took a seat on the edge of his bed. "I'm not a mouse!" The young boy protested. "You're the mouse, no, the butthead, remember? You're a mouse butthead."

"Heeeey!" Marble gave Augustus' thumb the equivalent of a sucker punch, although it didn't really do much due to his size and the fact she already had noodles for arms. "Das not vewy noice. Just 'cause I'm a shortie already. See, you call ME a meanie." The small girl crossed her arms and huffed. One of the only things Marble seemed to be sensitive about besides her past was her height. It set her off every time. "Besides, I don't go around calling you 'Walking Skyscraper', do I?"

"Okay, okay. Fine," Augustus giggled and rolled his eyes. "I was just kidding, you meanie." He stuck his tongue out at her, his childish side clearly showing brightly at the moment. Poor Auggie hadn't a chance to act so childish in forever, and he liked feeling like a little kid again.

Marble laughed and blew a raspberry at him, not caring that she was being immature. Not that she really cared in the first place. "Whatever. Now lemme go, we're not snuggle buddies no more," she huffed, trying to wiggle her way out of his grasp.

Augustus whimpered, beginning to whine like a grumpy child. "Nu, you can't leave me!" He wailed, fighting back the urge to giggle. "You're so mean, Marble." He coddled her against his chest, giggling as he stroked her hair with the tip of his forefinger.

Marble giggled, rubbing her head against his finger like a tiny kitten. "Me? Mean? No way, just wait 'till you meet the REST of my family. I'll look as sweet as cotton candy," she argued. Auggie was as sweet and innocent as her sister when she'd first arrived. Well, before she became tainted by the unstoppably mischievous influence that was her family, anyways. It was amazing that less than a day, he'd somehow managed to break down all the walls she'd set up over years and years. She no longer cared that Auggie was a giant, she barely ever had. He was her friend, seemingly getting closer every second she was around him, and that was all that really mattered.
