"My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains my sense." Her voice was wavering as she stood in front of the empty hall. Reading aloud was never her forte. Especially when it was so close to her heart. Her petite form slid behind the wings, as she watched people start to file in. Looking down, her hands quivered and shook he paper she held. Slowly and cautiously, she peered out at the audience, dazzled by the bright lights- was he there? "My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains my sense." The brunette started, her voice meek and quiet. Soon the ink became too blurred to read, her whole body shaking too much to carry on. With a polite nod of her head, she slowly trudged off the stage, struggling for breath.
