Chapter 10
When we arrived at the restaurant, the first person I saw was Brittany. Why didn’t she call that she was coming?
“Hey, Lads!” Zayn said
“Hey.” The guys said at the same time.
“Hey, Britt.” Zayn and I said
“Hi Zayn, Alexis” She replied
“Can we talk for bit, Britt?” I asked since she never really calls me by name unless something’s wrong.
“Um sure.” We talked outside of the restaurant. The restaurant had a garden, so that’s where we went. “What’s up Alexis?” She asked.
“Nothing much, just excited to be moving in with Zayn! You?”
“Nothing really, just been here and there.” She said in a bit of an off tone
“What’s wrong?” I asked concerned
“Nothing, nothing’s wrong.” She said trying to hide the tears coming out of her eyes.
“C’mon talk to me. I’m still the same person you knew.”
“It’s nothing, not a big deal.”
“Everything is a big deal, especially if it makes my best friend cry.” I said in a more comforting tone
“I caught Niall cheating on me.” She said in tears. I moved in to hug her. “I came in two nights ago, I was going to surprise him, and so I took a cab to his place, when I arrived, I hadn’t even gotten out of the cab when I saw him kissing and touching up some girl through the window.” She kept on telling me through her tears. “I decided to call him, and he didn’t answer the phone. I left him a voice message that said I was going to be in London in two hours, just to see if he would go pick me up. But he didn’t so I had taken another cab to a hotel nearby. It took him twelve hours before he called to ask me where I was.”
“Oh Britt, I’m so sorry, I…” She cuts me off.
“That’s not all, when I asked him why he didn’t call me back, he told me was already a sleep. I didn’t tell him anything after that. He took me back to his place, and I refused to sleep next to him.”
“Britt, I not sure what to say.” I said honestly.
“That’s ok, there’s nothing to say.” She replied wiping away her tears.
“Britt, why didn’t you just tell Niall to drop you off at Zayn’s, you knew I was there?”
“I just didn’t want to bother you two!”
“How many times I have I told you, you are never a bother?!”
“I-I just wasn’t thinking straight.”
I was about to say something when Niall came to check on us.
“What’s wrong? Princess why are you crying?” He said in a clam voice
“Don’t, just don’t” She said, running.
I chased after her, into the bathroom. She stormed into one of the stalls. I could hear her crying.
“Britt, come out here, please.” I said
“No, I don’t want to!”
“C’mon, I have something for you?"
“I don’t want anything unless it’s a time machine, or something that make me disappear from this world!” She said in her suicidal voice.
“Don’t say that! There’s a reason for…”
“You don’t say that, I’m tired of hearing that! I just wanna go!” She sounded fustraed.
“Well go then!”
“Fine, I will go!”
“Britt, I didn’t mean it like that, I meant let’s get out of here. Let’s go where ever you wanna go! If you wanna go to Japan, let’s go, wanna go to India, let’s go. But before let me just get the credit card!” I heard her laugh a little. “Did I just hear a little laugh, Britt?” I got no answer. “Britt please put down the razor!” She came out, crying and handed me the razor. “Thanks.” I gave her a hug. She accepted it. “Want me to go get the car keys and the credit card?”
“If you don’t mind” She said softly and wiping away the tears.
“Ok meet me at the front, while I go get it from Zayn.”
She nodded in agreement.
I walked over to the guys.
“Hey, is everything ok?” Liam asked as he sees me coming over alone
“Where’s Britt?” Harry asked concerned
“Everything’s under control. Brittany and I are going for a little drive.” I said at ease. “Zayn, can I please have the car keys? We’ll be back before you know it!” I told him as I kissed his check.
He handed me the keys without any question, he knew something was going on and that I would tell afterwards.
“Can I come?” Niall asked
“Um no, sorry.” I said
“But I’m her boyfriend.”
“Say that again!” I said in a defensive tone. He didn’t repeat it. “That’s what I thought!”
“Well can I come?” Louis said
“Um, I’m not sure.” Zayn gave him a look that said, let them go ahead.
“Never mind, I’ll stay.”
“Thanks Lou.”
I met Brittany outside.
“I got them!”
“The keys and credit card?” She asked
“No, just the keys, I always have the credit card.” I said making her smile.
We got into the car and just drove. We listened to music, sing to songs we knew and did know. It had been two hours since we left, and we decided we should head back.
We had gone back but the guys had already left. We went to my place. As we stepped foot in through the door
“Where have you two been? We’ve been worried sick about you!” Louis said
“Oh, hush. You’re just jealous we didn’t invite you clubbing!” Brittany answered in a teasing tone
“You were where?” Harry asked
“We didn’t go clubbing, we went to get ice cream, at that ice cream parlor next to the club!”
“Oh!” Liam said a little relief.
The next few hours went quickly. Brittany completely ignored Niall. Niall was hurt from that, so he came to ask why Britt was ignoring him.
