Chapter Fourteen

Skylar's POV

Coming to the beach house with Kennady has been one crazy rollercoaster ride. Never in a million years would I have ever thought that Kennady had a horrible past. I always thought she was the gorgeous girl with a great personality, happy, perfect life, and a big heart. Every time I was with her, she was all smiles and laughter, but I guess everyone had something underneath all those happy exterior.

Kennady came up to me one day and apologized for not being able to tell me about her past, thinking I was upset and angry, but I wasn't. Sure, I was kind of upset at first, but I understand why she didn't or couldn't tell me.

"Hey sexy," I internally groaned, rolling my eyes before turning to face the owner of the voice. Did I forget to mention that never in a million years did I ever expect to meet the biggest player known to man, too? Well, that person is no other than, William Larston A.K.A. Mr. Player,

Kennady's older brother.

"What do you want?" I snapped, crossing my arms across my chest.

Big mistake.

Liam's eyebrows rose, staring openly at my chest. I cleared my throat, quickly dropping my arms, placing them on my hips instead. "My eyes are up here, you perv."

"I know, but I got a nice view right now. Not my fault you're hot."

I glared at him, huffing before turning on my heels, and walking off.

"Hey, hey! Come back 'ere, baby!" I grinded my teeth together, taking larger steps. Before I could get in the backdoor of the beach house, I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist, pulling me back. My eyes widened in shock before I snapped my head around to face him, regretting it right after. My face was barely an inch away from his and I could feel his minty breath fanning on my face. Liam smirked, obviously pleased with the distance between us.

Suddenly, his once smirking face turned serious. His eyes casted down, stopping at my lips. Unconsciously, mine did too. Slowly, he closed the distance between us, tingles spreading throughout my entire body. I didn't know what got into me, but I was soon kissing him back. The kiss wasn't urgent or rough, it was sweet and passionate, not what I was expecting from a guy like Liam.

That night, we all sat around a bonfire, just relaxing and having a good time. I was talking to Aubrey when I felt someone's gaze on me. My eyes flicked over to his direction and was met by his intense gaze. What happened ealier today, suddenly came rushing back. I could still feel his surprisingly soft lips on mine, and the feeling his kisses gave me. I knew I shouldn't have kissed back, but it just felt so right. Argh! Why? Why him?! I can't let myself fall for him and his charms 'cause Liam Larston meant trouble and possibly a broken heart.

Then why the heck is the smaller part in me telling me to take a risk? This is so confusing and I blame William Larston!
