Chapter 6
Mackenzie's POV:

I slowly blink my eyes open immediately squinting them as I'm staring at a bright light. I slowly place my hand on my forehead as I have this pounding headache. I slowly adjust myself to sit up. I hear a loud gasp making me face to the right. "Mackenzie!" Johnny squeaks as he slowly walks up to me.
I give up a small smile. I still look around at my surroundings. Why am I at the hospital. I look down at my arm to see an IV inserted in me. "You seem confused, do you not remember what happened last night." Johnny bites his lip speaking softly.
I shake my head lightly nodding no. "Oh well um." The Doctor walked in interrupting Johnny. "Ah you're awake that's great." I stare back at the doctor blankly. The doctor clears his throats before talking again. "Just three questions, what's your name?"
I roll my eyes, seriously? Does he think I lost my mind. "Mackenzie." The doctor nods. "Do you know who he is?" I turn to see him pointing at Johnny. "Yes, it's Johnny." I mumble before turning back to look at the doctor. "Last one. Do you know why you're in the hospital."
I bite my gum looking down. "No, and I'm really scared. Do I have a disease? Did I pass out? Am I about to die?" The doctor raises his hand making me stop talking. "On your way home you got in a car crash. Johnny got distracted for a split second so when another car was trying to turn it rammed into you."
My eyes winded. I look at my right arm which seems broken. I touch my head once again to notice stitches on my forehead. "But it's ok. You only have minor injuries which means you can go home."
Tears start to fall out of my eyes. "Where's my mom? I want to see my mom and Maddie!" I start hyperventilating while Johnny finally comes back to life trying to calm me down. I push him off of me. "Calm down miss Ziegler, your mom and sister have been informed and they should be here any minute."
"Why is he here? Anyone but him I don't care but why does he have to be here?" All of my past built up anger is just being released. I knew forgiving him was a bad idea. That lead to me almost dying.
"He didn't want to leave your side. He stayed here all night, we couldn't even get him to leave when visiting hours were over. He cares about you." I scoffed.
"If I told you all of the crap he's said, even done to me, you'll be shocked. He doesn't care about me one bit. The only reason he's here at this moment is because he wants to seem like a good person to other people."
The doctor opened his mouth but closes it soon after. "Once your mom has arrived you're free to go. You don't need a wheelchair nor crutches as you only have a broken arm. I nod wiping my tears away. "Kenzie." Johnny whispers as I just blow up again. "What Johnny?! What could you possibly want?"
Johnny falls silent again. "I- I'm just sorry. I'm sorry for causing you so much pain. I'm sorry-" Johnny gets interrupted as the door clicks open. "Oh my baby." Mom runs to me giving me a big hug while I hug her the best I can with a broken arm. I look behind mom to see Maddie wiping away tears.
I give her a warm smile trying to say that I'm ok. After the sad reunion I was eager to go home just to forget about today. Mom helped me out of bed, we were taking things so slow when I just wanted to leave. After standing up and laying my arm around Maddies and mom's shoulder we finally started to exit.
I look over at Maddie to see what she was looking at as I saw her blue eyes looking behind me from the corner of my eyes. I slowly turn to see her staring at a silent Johnny. I roll my eyes "Can we please hurry? I'm sorry tired and just need to rest." I said as weak as I can go have then worry and speed up this process.
"Oh of course. Come on Maddie!" I give a small smirk to Johnny as I began to walking out of the room and soon the hospital.
