"Alex?" I call out. "You in here?" Pushing open the door I see a flurry of papers strewn across the floor and desks. "Alex?" I take a step being careful not to trip on the plethora of wires.

Suddenly I hear a rustle as Alex runs out from one of the back rooms. His hair was disheveled and fell in front of his eyes that were wide and restless.

"Kat!" He exclaims running over towards me. "I'm so glad you're okay. Were you followed? Anyone come up to you?"

"I'm fine." I look around the destroyed room. "What happened? Alex, what is going on?"

"It's a long story, we just have to go.. now. Somewhere safe, maybe Australia? Or I hear Cuba i-"

I shake my head, "You're not making any sense. Leaving? Why?"

"There's these people. Bad people." He explains, moving from computer to computer. "They found me, th-th-they know. They know something about what happened that night on the Titanic and I.. I think they're trying to keep it hidden."

Bad People?
"Who would possibly be after you?"I ask, "Do you think it's the two guys from the bowling alley?"

"It's a high possibility."

I go over to where he was standing. His small frame hunched over the table as I saw beads of sweat run down his sunken face. I'm about to ask what the hell happened to him when a sudden jerk of his head stops me in my tracks.
"We have to go back now." He whispers.

"What?"

"We can't go anywhere, we can't run away. "He starts, heading back to the computers. "We need to know what happened. What it is that they're not wanting us to find out."

I don't say anything. Go back? We couldn't go back in time. Not only was it impossible but we had never tested out the machine.

"I don't think that's such a great idea."

"Kat, something big is being kept from the publics knowledge. What if all of our theories are right?"

"Your theories."

"Tomato Tomahto." He turns around with a wave of his hand and grabs a box from underneath a nearby desk.

"Here put these on." He says handing me the box. "They should be the correct size, your ticket, identification, money, and I got together a list of passengers and crew along with pictures and basic information."

"Al-"

"Shush and go put it on. Hurry."

He pushes me towards the side room and closes the door behind me.

Sighing I open the box and look at the contents.

I see the passenger list and everything else Alex mentioned along with a filled carpet bag but what caught my eye was the emerald green dress that was folded at the bottom. I reach in and pull it out, running my fingers over the silky material. It was gorgeous, they certainly didn't make clothes like this anymore. Black lace lined the sleeves, bodice, and neck line. With matching black ribbon tying the corset with.

A corset??

"Oh Lord no.." Why were corsets ever a thing?

Groaning I slip the infernal thing and the under skirt on until I realized a problem...

"Umm, Alex?" I call out.

He enters the room and immediately blushes at my lack of clothes.
"Oh, Im sorry, I should've knocked. I'll go." I noticed he had changed as well. He was dressed in a nice suit with coat tails that ended behind the knees and his normally ragged hair was combed and slicked back. It fit him well, the shirt and jacket looked as if it had been custom made. Showing off his surprising toned body.

"No, It's alright." I say my cheeks heating up. "Actually, I kinda need you to tie me up."

"O-Okay." He makes out as I turn around.

He grabs the ribbon and starts tugging making me gasp as the material restricts my lungs.

"Geez Alex not so tight. I need to breathe."

He lets out a chuckle. "Girls back then didn't breathe."

He gives another big tug and finally ties it.

I look down at my slip and nod. "Alright now shoo." I wave him out with my hand and pick up the dress before slipping it on. I call Alex in one more time to tie the last ribbon before slipping on the shoes and matching jewelry.

"Alright." I sigh."Ive played dress up. What now?"

"What now is your hair." He holds up a few bobby pins before attacking my hair.

I feel him tug and twist for what seemed like an eternity until he finally ends my suffering.

"Who taught you how to do hair?" I make out, gritting my teeth at my now sore scalp as he makes the final touches.

"Remember when I had REALLY long hair?"

"Mhm."

"Well.. I practiced on myself so I could do hair for my cousin."

Taking a quick glance at him, giggling as I pictured him in front of a mirror with a hair tutorial playing, meddling with his hair.
Earning a playful tug on my hair.

"Hey, she was paying fifty bucks for someone to do her prom hair so I educated myself." He defends but I still cant help the smile on my face.

"I suppose that will do for now. Annie will help you the rest of the time were on the ship." He stands back and admires his work. I notice his eyes linger a little before meeting back with mine.

"Annie?"

"Our servant."

I gawk at him. "Servant?"

"Yes Kat. Remember what time were going to be in."

I shake my head. "How did you even get ahold of her?

"I sent a message and substantial amount of money back in a test run to a place where I know it would get delivered."

He tested it? More importantly it worked??

He reaches for my hand shaking me from my thoughts, I quickly grab the items as he tugs me to the machine when a loud bang echoes throughout the room.

I look toward the entrance and back to Alex who stared on at the door. "Alex what was that??"

"We gotta go. Now." He runs back towards a computer leaving me standing by the doorway time machine that we would be walking through. Another bang makes me jump, but a followed creak of the door opening makes me run to Alex.

"Alex?" I exclaim as I hear footprints coming down the hall.

"It's almost up. Just a few more minutes."

"We don't have a few minutes. We don't have a few seconds."

The footsteps get closer.

"Alex!"

"Almost there." I hear a whirr as the machine starts to come to life. The footsteps become faster.

I look towards the time machine as sparks start to fly from it before a wall of electricity fills the empty door frame.

"Got it." He exclaims reaching over to grab the watch and straps it on his wrist.

As we start to head to the wall of death the door bursts open revealing the two men from the alley only now dressed in suits and with back up.

They quickly spot us and rush.

"Hey!" One of them shouts.

"Go!!" I grab his hand and am about to jump into the machine when his hand is pulled out of mine.

I quickly turn to see the mysterious men grabbing Alex and start towards me. Moving to run, my foot catches on a wire and sends me hurtling into the machine. "Alex!"

"Find Annie!" Is all I hear as I fall into a seemingly endless void.
