Dayton.

376.

Names I go by and will only go by until this disease infested apocalypse ends.

I had the pleasure of witnessing first hand what it was like watching a zombie try to kill my best friend and I had the pleasure of knowing what it was like breaking it's skull. I couldn't lie and say it was a bad feeling, but I couldn't lie and say it was a good one either.

That was then.

We realized that some sort of apocalypse was happening and with that knowledge we took the remaining time to prepare for it.

We studied them, how they moved and what they responded to. We risked our lives gathering as much intel as possible.

An emergency alert was sent out a month after the incident, but they were too late. More than a quarter of the Earth's population was already infected.

I lost contact with Columbus a year and a half after that. We were running from a hoard of zombies that were determined to get a bite out of us and I got the spontaneous idea of using myself as bait. I was able to get them to follow me and eventually outran them after 15 minutes.

I knew being on the track and stride team was a good idea. All those years finally paid off.

Rule #1: Cardio

I've made contact with a few zombies, slower than the average ones. Knowing your way around tools is great, but knowing how to make a weapon out of anything is even better. I fought them off with Apollo and a rusty old fork I found uselessly lying on the ground.

There was no way I could get back in touch with Columbus, I knew this so I stole things. Guns, knives, food, water and clothing. I made a do it yourself blowtorch and set every zombie I saw on fire.

The best thing I ever stole was a car. A military car to be exact. I didn't know the model but I did know that I was using it to my advantage. I tricked it out, gave it a ram and steel wires around the windows.

I swear, when I see Columbus again, I'll give him one of the best hugs I could ever give. That's a promise.
