Chapter 22

Colby Pov

Brennen been a tiny bit different after I told him. I mean there isn't a reason he shouldn't be mad or upset. He been going with me everywhere being the overprotective like when I was pregnant with Author. Josh wanted to finally wanted to go with my plan from the start have him few days. But Author was scared and upset that it was gonna happen. We went to go meet Josh to sign the contract so he can. We showed up early. 

"Brennen you okay?" I say and Brennen was spacing out "Brennen. Earth to Brennen" I wave my hand in front of his face

"Yeah I'm fine I'm listening" he doesn't look at me 

Author was sitting in the chair behind us on the phone playing games. I make Brennen look at me and we stare for a bit and then I put a small smile and he does the same and then I stare into his eyes. Then I kiss him

We was interrupted when we hear someone clear their throat. I break it and Brennen and I look and it's Josh and his lawyer. I see Brennen do a glare him and Josh have a stare off. Brennen then grabs my waist and pulls me to his side. I know he is doing this to see how Josh would react. Josh looked at Brennen hand on my waist and his jaw tightened. Josh's lawyer greeted us and Josh brought us to his office.

Time passed as we talked about the days for him to have Author.  Brennen had to leave the room because he was started getting mad a bit, so he was outside the room with Author. We only had to sign now. When I forgot to say something. "Before I sign this paper. If I die Josh and his family won't have any legal right over Author without my consent. Also they will never his guard or try to take him away from me" I look at Josh as I speak

"Of course" I nod and add my conditions. I signed them with a deep breath.

"Okay I'll send this to the judge" Josh lawyer told us and we both nod. 

Brennen walked in and smiled and I smile as well "Ready to go?" I nod and I stood up from the chair and we was about to head out the door until Josh stopped us. "I have something to talk about with Colby. Alone." I frown and Brennen looks uncomfortable he looks at me and I nod. "Just wait outside and I'll be out in a bit" I say and Brennen nods "see you in a bit" he gives me a quick kiss and leaves the room. 

"I see you got closer with Brennen" he sits down in chair and looks at me up and down

I make a confused face "You jealous?" I tease

"I have the right to. Your mine" he glares

"No I'm not I'm engaged to my love" I cross my arms across my chest. "Don't worry" he rolls his eyes 

A knock was heard. He told them to come in and I roll my eyes. A women with brown hair wearing a black pencil skirt with white shirt see through you can see her bra. Showing to much cleavage for my liking. Even if I know Josh won't do anything. Jealous Colby? I ask myself little. 

She was smiling but she lost it when she walked in and saw me. Which made me smile. 

"Oh Colby this is my temporary secretary Chloe. Chloe this is my love of my life Colby" he said and my eyes widen and look at him and he smirked a**hole.

"Oh. Nice to meet you Colby" she said in a fake way. I can tell she didn't want me here

I get a text my phone lights up "That must be Author" she said pointing at my phone "He's very is very handsome Obviously looks like his father" she bites her lip and looks at Josh. I glare. Josh smiling looking at me waiting to see how I'd react. "Really I think he looks like his beautiful "mother" he puts up quotations. 

I give her a small smile. "You look like a very nice girl. I hope you are too stressed because of Josh is very rough" I finish with a innocent smile

"Actually I learned a lot from him" she smirked looking back at Josh. She wants me to think there is something going on between them. I don't care I got Brennen but I just went along with it. "Yeah probably" i smile the same way as I could tell she was irritated by how calm I was.

"Sir, Your brother went to lunch with the manger" she stares at Josh obviously irritated but Josh had his eyes on me the whole time and nods. I smirk 

"I hope to see you again around OUR working place Colby" she tells me as she leaves

"Working place? Not yet. Your a temp. But I hope to see you again around here too Claire" I knew I didn't say her real name. I take my phone

"You got it wrong" she stops and turns back to us "It's Chloe" she tells me 

"Oh my bad Chloe" I say and to another calm smile. She finally let and closed the door behind her. I glare at the door before looking at Josh from the corner of my eye. He looks at me teasingly and leaning back slowly smirking.

"Shut up" I sigh and roll my eyes

He chuckled and shook his head. "what's her problem?" I arch a raising a brow

"Problem?" he asks smirking at me

"since when do you like flirty assistants?" 

"I can't control her attraction to me" he says 

"Why did she have brown hair" I smirk he froze

"Her hair is similar to mine's do you plan on hiring women and try to pretend they are me?" I say and walk over to him and he is no longer smiling. I'm close to him and have my hands resting on his armrests on his chair and I stick me butt out and we are close and he inhales sharp and I chuckle and then move away and smirk. 

"Okay I'm going to go now see you" I walk towards the door 

"You Tease!" Josh yells and I laugh quietly and close the door and see Brennen and Author on their phones and I walk over to them and Brennen looks up and smiles "You ready?" he asks 

I nod and I grab Author hand and we walk to elevator and then exit as soon as we got to the lobby and get in Brennen's car
