Chapter 11

Devyn Pov 

We are Colby get out of a car and  we see an elder women she looked a bit similar. He was smiling and so was the women they walk in. We run over to him "Colby you okay!" Corey asks Colby smiles "yes I'm fine I happen to meet someone" I looks at the women. "Who is she?" I say "Oh hello my name is Mabel and I am Colby mother" we all get look at her. "Didn't she leave" Brennen says looking mad. "She tried to come back but Tom was drunk and never let her near me" Colby says. "Why?" Sam says. "I don't know?" Mabel tells us. "So where's the little one" she smiles I assume she is talking about Author. Author was hiding behind Brennen "it's okay sweetie this is your grandma" Colby smiles and holds out his hand for author to take. 

Author looks at Mabel and then walks slowly to Colby and grabs his hand. "Oh hello sweetie what's your name" Mabel pretends to not know "A-Author" he looks at Colby he still looks scared. Colby picks Author up Mabel smiles "You look so much like your dad" she chuckles. Author makes an confused face "I look more like mommy" Author points at Colby. 

Colby Pov 

I chuckle "he calls me mommy I tried to get him to say dad but he wouldn't so I stuck with mommy" I chuckle. "Okay now who's the "dad" she doesn't want to say step father in front of Author. "That would be me" Brennen walks up and holds out his hand. Mabel smiles and takes his hand Brennen kisses her hand. "Oh such a gentleman". "Okay now I heard another man named Samuel" he walks and does the same as Brennen. She turns to the other these must be your wonderful friends. She shakes all their hands. A cop then walks up to us or was the one that found Colby in the woods? "Excuse me Mr.Brock may we speak with you" I nod and put Author down "I'll be right back mom do you want to go" "Oh uhm sure" me and mom follow the cop. We was brought in a different room. "Okay Mr. Brock I wanted to hear the story on why you shot your father" I exhale "he told  when he gets out he was gonna find me again and do stuff. I was tired of it I couldn't take that kind of pain anymore he abused me ever since I was little. He blamed me for why my mother left". The cops start taking notes "My mother told me that she had tried to come back but my father wouldn't let her anywhere near me" I say.

They nod  they look at my mom "where did exactly did you go" she exhaled "I told Tom I went to go stay at my sister's for a few days because she needed comfort about her husband's death" a cop came in and gave us water. "After I went back he was drunk and I forgot my keys at home and knocked on the door and he was drunk can tell from his breath. I tried to go in but he wouldn't let me in and he said he's kicking me out. I tried to go get Colby but he pushed me and said I'm never allowed to be around my Colby and he threatened if I did he would kill me". My mom starts crying. I felt bad because my mom tried to get me and my dad was mean and threatened her. "Okay that's all we need to know we might have a bigger chance of letting you go and not arresting you" they all get up and tell us that we can leave. We all went out to go eat I wasn't really hungry but I ate anyway. I looked at our table and it made me smile everyone happy, smiling, telling jokes,taking photo's. I'm finally at peace
