chapter 5

Gajeel

When he woke up it was the middle of the night, he still felt exhausted and weak.

Its like when Snow kissed him she sucked up all his energy. Levy... he thought about her. I wished it was her who kissed me instead.

He stured in his bed accidentally waking up his cat.

"Its good to see you're awake," he said sitting up.

"Yea," Gajeel nodded.

"Why did you kiss Snow?" his cat asked surprising him.

"How did you know about that?" he said.

"Levy saw you."

"She what...?"

An emotion hit him, fear, pure stinging fear.

"I was looking for her and she was crying deep in the library."

Hearing Lily's words hurt him, he made Levy cry again. I promised myself I'd never hurt her again!

"What do I do? Snow kissed me after I told her I loved Levy..."

"You should tell her how you feel," Lily petted Gajeel's arm with his paw then laid back down.

Gajeel laid back down with Lily, "Goodnight."

"Good night Gajeel," Lily said.

They both fell into a deep sleep until the morning. The sun came in through their window waking them both up.

Gajeel got up and closed the curtain so Lily could get some more sleep. Then he put on fresh clothes and brushed his teeth, and his hair just so it wasn't tangled.

Today, I have to tell her how I feel today, then we can save Snow's brother and get out of here.

He walked into the hallway and knocked on Levy's door. He heard her little foot steps come to the door then she opened it. 

Her huge eyes looked up at him, "Oh good morning Gajeel," she said smiling adorably. "Come in."

He walked in her room and she closed the door.

He opened his mouth to start telling her, but the words wouldn't come out, "i- I um... thought we could go early today, get this over with," he blurted instead of telling her what he wanted to.

"Oh Yea, okay," she said while she finished brushing her hair that already looked perfect.

Levy

We went down stairs and got a map to Serpent Slave then walked along the dirt road through the forest.

"These trees are magnificent aren't they Gajeel?" I asked.

"How far is the guild shrimp?" he asked ignoring my question.

I looked at the map, "we're like half way there."

"Should I use my battle form now?" Lily asked Gajeel.

"Nah wait until we get here to save energy."

Gajeel was being quiet, to quiet. Usually he was very loud, he seemed upset and I had no idea why. I looked at Lily and he shrugged.

"I hope Snow's brother is okay..." I sighed.

"What's his name anyways? its getting annoying saying 'Snow's brother' every time we talk about him," Gajeel said irritatedly.

"She didn't tell us actually," I said thinking how strange it was.

"Did you two notice her hair changes colors?" Lily asked.

"I did!" I blurted, "first her hair was blonde then in the morning her hair was black, later I saw her with white hair.."

"I saw her hair turn back to blonde last night," Gajeel's voice showed how pissed off he was about it.

"Who goes there?" a female voice said from the trees.

"I'm Levy McGarden, this is Gajeel Redfox and Pantherlily. We've come for-"

"No, we know who you've come for, please leave or elssse," the voice hissed.

Gajeel's arm turned to a metal bar and shot into the trees knocking the girl out. Then he continued walking and I followed him.

"We must be getting close..." I started walking closer to Gajeel.

"Don't worry shrimp I'll protect you," he put his arm around me and gave me a little squeeze.

"Thank you," I smiled at him.

"Aw how sweet," a man came out from the trees.

"You must be Roy," Gajeel said lifting an eyebrow at him.

"I am, and you are?"

"Here to kick your ass," Gajeel said turning his arm into a iron sword.
