"I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you right now." My mom yells from behind me. Her heels clicking on the hardwood steps.

"I know, and I'm trying to avoid you." I turn and yell in her face.

My mom's relationship with me was never any good, she always favored my older sister, and now that she's out of the house and at college. All my mom has is me.

I run my hands through my long hair and slam my door shut. "Why do you always shut me out?" She asks from behind my closed door.

"Because I want you to feel my pain mother, feel my fucking pain." I tell her with tears admitting from my eyes.

"I've felt your pain before." She leaves me.
