Before Gray had to make any dramatic decisions for her living style, Donatello said he would stay with her a few nights in her apartment before she had to part with it soon. She had to admit that Donnie was right about having to live with him and his family because she "bred" with him and may not have a normal-looking baby in the next few months.

When he got to the apartment, Gray was lying on the couch, relaxing and watching some shows to ease her mind. As soon as he entered the apartment's environment, she noticed she had that awkward feeling with him. She loves him... well, she thinks she does. But it's also hard to wrap her head around the thought that her husband is a mutant turtle with a very odd background and complicated living situation. Somehow, she'll have to make the best of it.

"Hey," He said softly, seeing his wife on the couch. Don rubbed the back of his head, nearing closer to the furniture. "May I sit?"

Gray nodded to him, moving her feet. "Are you sure about this, Don?" She suddenly asked.

"I..." He chuckled, leaning back into the couch. "I'm not sure but we need to work it out, right?"

"Right." She says, remembering that Donnie needed to meet her family soon. At some point, they'll need to fly here. It's going to be so complicated and that is what she feared. This new life of hers won't be smooth and slick.

Don hated to see that his new wife was not feeling the greatest. He stared at the TV screen with Gray, his right hand sitting on her leg, unsure what to do for her. His eyes gaze around the room, looking for some kind of idea to cheer her up. Then, his eyes met the watch on his wrist, and that created a smile on his face. "Gray," He nudged her. "Come on." He leaned forward to get up from the couch.

"What?" She says to him.

"Let's go for a walk outside." He suggested. "It would give us a great time to bond, you know, get to know each other."

Grayson breathed out after he suggested an activity. She thinks it would be a good idea because the thought of staying and moping in the apartment wouldn't be the brightest thing to do. She doesn't want to be depressed in here. Gray sat up on the couch and agreed to it. "Okay,"

After she put her hair up in a high ponytail, put on a better pair of sweats, and wore a light jacket, Gray found her shoes at the apartment door and was ready for a walk around the city. Donnie followed her out and before they entered the outside world, he switched the rim of his watch to change his appearance.

He's back to being that tall, handsome young man with thick styled brown hair, a perfect grin, those bold glasses, and a warm and protective partner for his wife. Together, they held hands, clinging to one another side by side and making small talk on the sidewalk.

Don would look down at Gray and see the strands of her dark hair were getting in her face sometimes. Carefully, he'd brushed them behind her ear, making her feel valued and loved. It made her giggle each time he tried to fix her wavy, flying hair.

Shortly after making it to the busier streets of the city, Grat felt her stomach begging for some food. Her nose caught a smell of bread and flour, but the meat from the hotdog made her gag and nearly nauseous. "I'm getting hungry, but I can't stand the smell of hotdogs..." She told Donnie, covering her nose with her jacket sleeve.

He wanted to feed her.

As a husband should.

Donnie didn't want to make her nausea worse, so he retreated her from the food vendors. "Hm..." He mumbled, looking around the environment until he found a suitable food choice that he hoped she would enjoy. A small Italian restaurant called Carmine's. "How about some Italian?"

Gray gazed across the street and saw the people piling into it. "A-Are you sure? Don, you don't have..." She trailed off, not wanting to offend him. "Never mind. Sorry."

Donnie dug through his jeans pockets and pulled out a wad of cash. He chuckled at her reaction to the amount he had in his hand. "You'd be surprised how much cash gets lost in the sewers."

"But I'm wearing sweats and a jogger jacket..." She said sadly.

"And I'm underdressed, too." He gestured to himself, only wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a simple coat.

She smiled at him, leaning against his arm. "Okay." Donnie guided her across the street alongside other civilians until they made it to the restaurant. This was the first time someone had ever taken her out to eat. Gray felt a different kind of love, appreciation, and respect for Donnie. She began to feel the generosity sink in and realized he wanted to care for her and the baby. He held her hand tightly, but just enough for her hand to not feel like it was being suffocated, and kept her close to his side. He spoke to the waiter and informed him that they would be dining.

This restaurant was so beautiful on the inside. There are so many orange and gold lights brightening the place up, pearl white tablecloths, wood furniture, and lots of chatter coming from other guests. Before Gray knew it, she and Donnie were guided to their table, sitting across from one another and creating intense eye contact. "I... I guess you could say this is our first date." He laughed lightly, adjusting his chair underneath him.

"After sex and marriage?" Gray responded. "Yeah, I agree." She smiled shyly, feeling the butterflies flutter in her stomach, creating a wonderful spark of bondage that reels her in for her husband. They stared into each other's eyes for a solid five seconds before the waiter came to assist their table with drinks. Gray chose ice water, and Donnie wanted to try lemonade; a simple drink he has always wanted to try.

While they sipped on the edges of their tall glasses, they took a look at the menu. While the mutant turtle disguised as a human scanned the menu, he looked up out of his glasses without moving his head and saw his wife. Her dark black, wavy hair in her ponytail, her clothing... it didn't matter how she dressed or did her hair. He loved her for the way she was. He smirked at her beauty, her lips, eyes, and that wonderful personality. Donnie has great faith in her and he hopes she has great faith in him, too.

After he chose his entree of choice, Donnie closed his menu and watched as his wife continued to choose hers. "Hard choice?"

"Yup..." She replied. "Ever since I got pregnant, food has been a hit or miss for me." Gray said with a small grin.

"Oh," Don muttered. "I didn't know that you'd be meticulous. I'm sorry, I should have considered that--"

Grayson stopped him before he could finish. "Don, it's okay. Seriously." She assured him. "Thank you for bringing me here."

Donnie smiled at her with a single nod. "You're welcome." He told her. "My new bride..." He spoke softly with anxiety spiking in his chest. "My new bride deserves the best. My child deserves the best, too." He set his arm down on the table, reaching for his wife's hand to let their hands hold each other.

Tonight was their first date night as a couple, a married couple, and a couple who were going to become parents soon. It's safe to say that this date went well after consuming ravioli, sausages, and a few buttery minced potatoes here and there.

The food bill was paid in cash, their bellies were full, and the final thing to do was to buy Gray a pint of rocky road ice cream to cure her craving for chocolate and marshmallows. She gladly shared the dessert with her husband back home on the couch, snuggling up with a soft blanket and laughing at comedies on the TV screen.

Friends is one of Gray's favorite shows and it was growing on Donnie the more they watched it. If he had a favorite character, it would be Ross. And Grayson always enjoyed Rachel and Monica.

Going on a simple walk led to a wonderful date night and a great start to Donnie and Gray's marriage. It gave them so much faith in the late evening.
