Dear James,
I met you at the steps of the Cathedral
Twenty-five years ago
On the eve of Christmas
The snow pelted my face as I,
Wrote a letter to my family.
Hoping the letter would reach Pennsylvania
Under 24 hours on the 24th.
My fingers were freezing as I
Held the fountain pen.
Halfway into the letter,
Someone took a seat next to me.
On the steps of the Cathedral.
Ignoring it, I continued writing the letter.
That was when I felt, you, place
A thick jacket around me.
I looked at you-lost in your green eyes.
Soon after I posted the letter,
We, met everyday at the steps of the Cathedral.
Today, on our 10th wedding anniversary,
All I can remember, is,
How we exchanged our vows
On the steps of the Cathedral.
I will never stop loving you James.
Neither will I stop loving,
The steps of the Cathedral.
Your lover,
Eleanor Ruby James
