Chapter 6: XOXO, Gossip Girl (Nico's POV)

I can't catch a break, can I? It almsot seems like my dad wants me to feel this way. Is he scared of me too?

I'm in the dining hall surrounded by the rest of the the Hades/Pluto table. Nothing seems to be different. Good.

"Nico," Hazel says. She sits across from me and when she says my name, everyone looks at me. I take my eyes off of everyone and focus on Hazel.

"I heard you got into a little situation with Scott. Are you okay?"

"I've been better honestly," I say.

"Well, what happened?" a boy next to Hazel asks. His blue eyes remind me of the ocean, which remind me of Percy. Dam.

"You know how it's been really hot recently?" He nods. "I went to the river and asked if I could swim. Next thing I knew, Scott was coming up to me and threatening me." Not exactly true, but I'll get to that later.

Katie comes up to us all of a sudden.

"Did you guys hear the news? Annabeth might be coming back!"

Everyone at the table gasps and creates side conversations. Meanwhile, I feel it get slowly hotter in here. Thank gods, another person comes over to us. Connor.

"That thing about Annabeth is not true," Connor tells us.

"How would you know?" Hazel asks.

"I'm going there. To California. My mom just moved there so Traivs and I are leaving here to go there. It turns out I'm going to be near Annabeth..."

"I hope you have fun, Connor," another voice says. Percy stands behind him with a tray in his hand. "You two deserve each other. Tell her I said hi."

More gasps. Seriously, this isn't "Pretty Little Liars." Yes, I'm on season 2; don't judge me! It happens to be in the banned section (gee I wonder why).

Connor looks at Percy. Actually, the whole dining hall is looking at Percy.

"Really," he adds to break the silence. "I'm over the fact that she left me for you. In fact, I couldn't care less about how she is right now."

This drives everyone nuts. The room grows concert-level-loud with conversation. Before Percy leaves, his eyes lock with mine for no more than five seconds. Then he walks out and I just stare at my cold food in silence.
