Chapter 7: Message Received (Percy's POV)
When I step outside of the dining hall, everyone I pass by stares at me. Some people smile, some people come up to me for hi-fives, and others just look at their friends and start whispering.
By now, it shouldn't be that big of a deal that I broke up with Annabeth. Both of us seem to be occupied anyway. Except she can be open with it and I have to stay closed. Why does life have to be so complicated sometimes?
I walk into my cabin and I see that there's a note on my bed. Lifting it up as I sit on the bed is when I find out it's from Nico. I don't want to open it, but at the same time, I do. If it's him trying to apologize again, it'll go right in the trash. I open it to see what he has to say:
Percy,
I know you are probably still mad at me, but I just want to talk to you again. you can think of it as a second chance for the other night, since that kind of took a turn for the worst. So if you're reading this and would like to try again, meet me at Anti-Pride Rock at 3 o'clock.
-Nico
I check the clock. It's 11:58. How can I keep myself occupied for 3 hours? Whatever I decide to do, it should hopefully help pass the time.
It's 87 degrees. I put on my swim trunks and head to the river. Maybe I can sit underwater to pass the time.
