She typed vervain in the search bar with shaky hands, multiple images came up and links.
She clicked on the first one 'vervain (or verbana) is a plant that legend told affects vampires. Vervain burns a vampire to the touch, if one has digested vervain and a vampire attempts to feed, the vervain will affect the vampire. Compulsion is another key element to vampires, if one has digested or is wearing vervain, you cannot be compelled.'
Caroline closed her eyes and remembered when klaus had taken a bag of vervain from Bonnie, he hadn't touched it. She slumped back in her chair, why would Klaus need vervain? She thought to herself, if a vampires greatest weakness is vervain, then why would he need his own supply?
She shook her head, trying to knock the thought out of her mind. She grabbed her computer mouse and clicked on the back button.
She scrolled down the page until she came across a link 'Vervain consumption' she clicked on the link. There was a small list of food items that it could be used in but the first 2 she found were coffee and tea. She clicked on the tea link 'make a cup of any choice of tea and put small pieces of vervain inside, stir in desired amount. Taste is usually masked.'
She put her face in her hands and closed her eyes, she sighed before clearing her computer history and shutting down her computer. She grabbed the small amount of vervain and walked into her kitchen.
She opened the left cupboard and took out a white mug and a jar of green tea leaves. She filled the kettle with hot water and put it on the stove, turning it to high. She grabbed a spoon, took a scoop of the tea leaves and poured it into her cup.
She pulled a small amount of vervain from the bundle and moved it around in her fingers. The texture was dry and fragile. She ripped it into 4 small pieces and dropped it in her mug with all her tea leaves. The kettle began steaming and a high pitch squeal escaped it. She turned the burner off and poured the hot water into the cup. She watched it slowly steam, she blew on the top of it and lifted the mug up with 2 hands.
"God I hope you don't find out about this." She spoke quietly while taking a sip of tea.
