She finally managed to get some time away from Klaus, not that she wanted to of course but she was basically living there. Her mom didn't seem to notice, she was too busy with the supposed "animal attacks" to really notice Caroline had been missing. Which seems like a big deal considering she's a cop who investigated murders and missing people in Mystic Falls. She grabbed the small metal container of crushed tea leaves and scooped some into her mug with a spoon. She began to crush apart the pieces of vervain and toss them into her cup. She tried to use vervain whenever she had time at her house alone because Klaus didn't seem to notice. She wasn't sure if it worked or not but since Klaus told Bonnie that he needed it there must be some significance to it, right? She poured the boiling water into her cup and lazily mixed it in circles as she leaned on the counter, she sipped her tea. She heard a knock on the door and willed herself to see who it was, bringing her tea along with her. She took a larger gulp of it and found herself staring at Klaus. She choked and spat her drink back into the cup. She quickly ran back and dropped it onto the counter.

She stalked back towards the hall and found Klaus giving her a confused look "What," he spoke smiling "no hello kiss?"

"Klaus," Caroline spoke in bewilderment "I thought you were picking me up later."

He gave her a small smirk "I thought about it," he spoke through the screen door "but I missed you."

She couldn't help smiling, especially in the predicament she was in "well you can come -"

He cut her off "If you invite me in, Caroline, I'll always be allowed in."

She thought about it for a minute, the words dangling on her tongue "Just, uhm" she stuttered "give me a second."

She quickly hurried back into the kitchen, grabbed her mug and made her way towards the bathroom. She managed to drink the entire cup in a matter of 30 seconds, leaving only the leaves at the bottom. She threw the leaves into the toilet and flushed them. She rinsed out her cup and began brushing her teeth, Caroline didn't know if it would help but she hoped. She walked out of the bathroom, leaving the mug on the counter and opened the door for Klaus. She stuttered, second guessing her choice "come in." She finally said.

He took an uncertain step into the house and walked closer to her, he put his hand under her chin and lifted her face up to his. He kissed her softly and she prayed that he couldn't taste it on her lips. He didn't make a sound, only smiled.

She grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to her room "let me get some stuff." She said letting his hand go. He lay on her bed looking at her photos on the night stand while she was grabbing things from her dresser and closet and placing them in her bag.

"Katerina?" He whispered, confused.

She looked over at him "Who?"

He stared at her as if she were the most oblivious person in the world "It's nothing," he spoke examining the photo "are you ready?" He said lifting his head up.

"Uhm, yeah." She said zipping up her bag.

He sat up and placed the photo back on her dresser and left the room.

She picked up the frame before leaving, it was the three of them after their cheer competition. Her, Bonnie and who could ever forget, Elena.
