Stiles wasn't sure which one was worse. The fact that Beacon Hills had a game against Devenford Prep again tonight or the fact that they had a scrimmage with Devenford before the game took place and Brett was still probably pissed at him for what he said.
As Peter would have said if he was here today, Stiles was dead man walking. Brett was known for holding grudges against people who have done something to him and once you're on his bad side there's a very little chance that you'll get off his radar anytime soon.
Stiles stood on the side of the field, with his lacrosse stick in his hands, wearing nothing but a grey t-shirt and a pair of adidas jogging pants and his cleats. He was a little sweaty since he hasn't done much running or practice during the scrimmage. In complete honesty Scott, Liam, Isaac and Jackson were the main ones handling all of the action at the moment.
Stiles was watching intently as Liam intercepted Brett's pass and ran toward the opposite goal before passing it to Jackson who then threw it to Scott. Stiles could tell that Brett was not happy about that and as Scott tossed the ball to him, Stiles caught it with his lacrosse stick.
However Stiles hadn't moved because his attention was on Matt, who was standing in the shadows snapping pictures of him. Momentarily distracted, Stiles didn't notice Brett running towards him until he heard Isaac yelling at him to pass the ball.
Stiles snapped out of his stupor and whirled around, bringing the stick back and letting his arm snap forward, effectively sending the ball to Isaac.
Brett halted in his tracks a couple feet behind him, probably to see what he was staring at but he couldn't care less. Stiles started to walk over toward the bleachers where Matt was standing but when said person saw him coming, he turned and stalked away as fast as he could.
Coach blew the whistle, causing Stiles to stop walking and look at him. Everyone was staring at Stiles as if he had done something dumb. Except for Brett who just looked curious to know what the hell that was about.
"Stilinski! What are you doing?!" Finstock yelled.
Stiles glanced back at the shadows behind the bleachers briefly before turning back to his coach. "I-I thought I saw someone. It was nothing coach."
"Really? We're in the middle of a scrimmage, Stilinski."
Stiles shook his head. "I know, I know. Sorry it won't happen again."
Coach looked at him as if he didn't believe what he had said before yelling at everyone that it was time for a break.
Stiles really didn't like the fact that Matt was once again being creepy and weird after not making any sort of appearance since he got out of the hospital. He also didn't like having the sinking feeling that something was going to happen soon and it wasn't going to be good.
Stiles caught up to Scott, Liam, Isaac and Jackson in the middle of the field, gaining their attention immediately. Liam leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek, causing Stiles to blush lightly.
"Matt was standing in the shadows under the bleachers, taking pictures of me." Stiles said, answering everyone's unanswered question. "That's why I kind of spaced out and looked like I was creeped out."
Liam growled under his breath as he wrapped his arm around Stiles' waist and pulled him closer. Stiles could not understand why Liam always got so possessive of him whenever Matt was either mentioned or whenever he was around. The only explanation Stiles came to was that Liam felt threatened by Matt and didn't trust him.
"You're kidding. Again?" Isaac said.
Scott paused in his stride as did everyone else. He turned to Stiles, a look on his face as if he were deep in thought. "Have any of you noticed how Matt's been acting strange as of late?"
Jackson snorted. "The guy's always acting strange. He's a weirdo. Mostly everyone thinks he's got a couple screws loose, if you know what I mean."
Stiles rolled his eyes but didn't bother to even make the effort to say anything to contradict him. Stiles' whiskey-brown squinting eyes looked into Scott's chocolate-brown eyes and said,
"I've noticed it a lot. The guy is a bit antisocial but he'll come try to make conversation with me sometimes in the hall." A look of realization fell over Stiles' face like a dark blanket. "If you want me to be honest, ever since Lydia's halloween party, Matt's kind of creeped me out. He kind of scares me."
Scott made a face and shot a look at Liam as a look of apprehension fell upon his fair-skinned face and he slowly looked at Stiles.
"You don't think Matt's stalking you...do you?" Scott questioned.
Stiles inclined his head, his face showing a look of possibility, his eyes flickering down and up. Even though it was a possibility since Stiles has been feeling like he was being followed and watched, he wasn't making any accusations just yet.
Scott exhaled deeply and began walking toward the locker rooms once more. Stiles knew how Scott might feel about his answer but Stiles was beginning to feel as if he weren't as safe as he thought. Even if Matt was stalking him or watching him, he didn't exactly have proof of him doing so.
"Let's hope Matt isn't someone we have to worry about." Scott said.

Matt was having trouble thinking straight after seeing Stiles up and awake again, not to mention on the field. And when Stiles saw him from his place under the bleachers, his heart stopped especially when he had started to walk toward him. But Matt panicked and left quickly.
However he returned only after he heard Finstock say they were taking a break. And when he did, he hid better than before. He observed Stiles as he rushed over to Scott, Isaac, Jackson and Liam and saw Liam kiss him on the cheek and pull him closer after wrapping an arm around his waist.
Witnessing such action made Matt angry and resentful. That should be him with his arm around Stiles' waist, him who greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. He should be the only one allowed to be in such close proximity to Stiles. Whether he knew it or not Stiles was his and he would show Dunbar and anyone else who Stiles belonged to.
Matt would truly be the only one Stiles can turn to when he loses everything dear to him. He will be the one Stiles can lean on for comfort, for love. Stiles was his angel and Liam fucking Dunbar didn't deserve him.
One way or another, Matt was going to show anyone and everyone who stood in his way that when he wanted something, anything, he'd get it. No matter what.
Stiles was who he wanted and no one would stop him from obtaining his goal. And should anyone dare try to stop him, they will suffer the consequences.
