Conflict and Resolution
What caused the conflict?
Why is it significant in the story or to the characters?
How does it affect the characters? What do they learn? How do they change?(none actually have to change)
How is the problem solved?
What has to happen for the characters to resolve it?
Keeping Things Moving
Make a timeline of events:
What moves the plot forward in each step of the story?(characters' desire):
Are there going to be places where you trick/mislead the reader? How? When?:
What are the steps that lead to the climax?:
What is the climax?:
How do the characters feel about the climax?:
Will there be more them one climax?:
tips:
1. I suggest making many timelines and plot drawings as you change the plot and add more twists and turns.
2. If you are having difficulty with the plot drawing I would draw one for a different book or movie to get some practice.
3. If you think of any questions as you read mine, write them down so that you can go back and answer them to improve your plot.
4. It is 100% acceptable to scrap the original plot and start a completely new one.
