The dance was absolutely gorgeous. The snow outside only added to the effect. After the dance ended me and Draco headed to the common room then went our separate ways to our rooms. Once I was stripped of the beauty that lied in the dress and makeup, I crawled under my covers to fall asleep. As I'm trying to close my eyes all I can think about is how me and Draco went from hating each others guts to, I guess, falling in love or something like that. Next thing I know I am waking up to Eira jumping on my bed to curl up to me. I sat up in my bed, letting my covers slide off my shoulders.

I look around my room to notice I was the only one in here. For a hot second I had a panic attack waking up by myself then I realized that I didn't care. I pet Eira gently before swinging my legs off the side of the bed. Stretching, I head over to the bathroom so I can brush my teeth. Once my breath smelled nice and minty I head out of my room with Eira trailing behind. The common room seemed particularly quiet as I walked down the stairs. Eira ran ahead of me to the couches in front of the fireplace so I caught up to her to find Draco sleeping on a couch.

I smiled then walked over to him. His mouth was slightly ajar while his head was leaned back against the top of the couch, he was dressed in his tux shirt and pants like he had simply sat on the couch last night then ended up falling asleep. With a chuckle I poked his shoulder a couple times to wake him. He picked up his head then wiped his face while yawning. When he noticed Eira he jumped slightly then smiled when he finally saw me.

"What is that thing?" He asked sleepily.

"Eira, my lynx." I answered.

"They let you have that thing?"

"She's not a thing and yes. She's technically a cat so they can't really do anything plus she's completely harmless unless she needs to be."

"That's only slightly terrifying." Draco laughed.

I laughed before going to sit beside him. I pulled my hair up into a loose bun then lean against Draco who wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

"Where is everybody?" I asked.

"Christmas break. Everybody went home." He replied.

"Oh. Why aren't you home?"

"I...I didn't want to go home this year. My family is intolerable so I chose to stay here."

"Oh. How long is the break?"

"Not long. Two weeks then everybody comes back."

"Welcome to the second task." Dumbledore said loudly using the megaphone spell. "Now last night something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts." Where's Draco? "These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the black lake." I looked down at the water to see a reflection showing a girl whose hair was a mess and hadn't slept in a couple days; me. "In order to win each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this, they will have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that they'll be on their own."

"Put that in your mouth." I heard beside me. I looked over to see Harry stuffing something in his mouth then instantly start coughing. He makes eye contact with me causing me to look away.

The cold air brushed against my exposed skin, having been in a one piece bathing suit, but it didn't bother me much. My midnight hair blew in front of my eyes making it so I couldn't see the dark waters in front of me. A shiver ran up my back as I waited for Dumbledore to let us begin.

"Sine oxyenio respirario." I quickly whispered to myself while doing a quick motion with my wand.

"You may begin at the start of the cannon." Dumbledore announced.

It only took a second for the cannon sounded and I wasted no time in jumping into the water along with Fleur and Krum but no Potter. The effects of the spell happened quickly and almost instantly.  I swam off as quickly as possible.

I started to push through the seaweed when I heard a faint 'woohoo' from above the surface then a splash. Hastily I made my way through the seaweed to get done with this stupid task as fast as possible. A relatively loud scream was heard behind me.

Harry swam past me but obviously didn't see me. Once I reached the edge of the seaweed patch I stopped to look. The waters were dark so not much was to be seen however it was almost impossible to miss the mermaid swimming in the distance. That had to be where I needed to be heading. I saw a figure swimming through a group of the mermaids that scattered away from them.

Swimming closer I found 4 figures that seemed to be tied to something on the bottom of the lake. I get closer to see Ron, Hermione, Draco, and a Beauxbatons girl tied by their ankles.

Quickly I swim to Draco and grab his face. He looked peaceful, as though he was sleeping, but I knew I had to get him out. Softly I kiss his cheek then rip the seaweed holding his ankle. A mermaid comes at me and hisses. Stupidly and without hesitation I whack her upside the head then grab Draco and swim away. I heard a hiss then a soft 'She's my friend too!' from somebody as I swam away.

Me and Draco surface with big gasps to be met with cheering. We looked at each other then broke out in smiles. We swam to the dock where we were pulled up and given towels to dry off with. I stood up and came face to face with Fleur wrapped up in a towel. When she looked around me to stare at the lake it hit me; she never got her 'treasure'. I threw the towel off me then jumped back into the water.

"It seems like Ms. Snape has jumped back into the water despite having finished the task first." I heard Dumbledore announce.

As I jumped in I swam past Krum with a shark head carrying Hermione. I gave no fucks as I swam back down to what would be Harry, Ron and Fleur's little sister. I found Harry fighting the mermaids while trying to free Ron. He looked up at me with pleading eyes which I was happy to offer my help. I swam to him and began to distract the mermaids so he could get Ron untied.

Once Ron was free I shot a spell at the seaweed holding Fleur's sister then proceeded to smack Ron so he woke up. Ron jolted awake with fright which only increased when he saw me before he relaxed. I pointed at Fleur's sister.

"Get her to the surface." I said to him.

He nodded then swam over to her and swam up. I looked back at Harry to see him passed out and sinking. I went to swim to him but the mermaids began to attack me so I had no choice but to leave him. Once again I swam to the surface. I was still a few feet underwater when the spell wore off completely and suddenly. Holding my breath was my worst skill so it became a race to get to the surface. When I finally did it was just in time as I was about to give out.

Fleur wasted no time in going to pull me up with haste. Ron and her sister had already been wrapped in towels and everyone just stared at me. It became obvious the Fleur wasn't strong to pull me up and the dock was a considerable height off the waters surface. Draco and Blaise noticed and ran over to help her pull me up. Once I was up and wrapped in a towel again Fleur attacked me in a hug.

"You jumped in to save my sister. I am forever grateful to you." She thanked in her french accent.

I hugged her back before replying back with a 'you're welcome'. She let go then pressed a soft kiss to my right cheek. As soon as she walked back to her sister Ron ran over to me with Hermione close behind him.

"Where is he?" He asked.

Thanks to nevillesIongbottom for allowing me to use her spell. I told her I would give credit if I used her spell forever ago and I did just that. Although I believe she took it out of the story I got it from but I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it so yeah.

So enjoy/vote/ become a fan or whatever else you wanna do and I'll see you in the next chapter.
