four months after the games, in district four•

I am standing in the woods behind a tree. I see the last tribute but I don't remember his name. I grab an arrow and set it in place. I aim at him. I shoot. He's dead.

"The winner of the 68th Hunger Games. Iris Smith!" I hear Claudius Templesmith announce.

"Iris wake up. Iris wake up." A person is hovering over me.

I open my eyes and go to grab my knife. It isn't there.

"It's okay, it's just me." I realise that it is Finnick and calm down.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"You were screaming. I came to check on you." He says.

"Okay, thank you. I get them a lot." I tell him.

"Me too. It helps if you talk about them." He encourages.

I tell him about the dream and by the time I'm done talking about it, I'm crying. He scoots over and is hugging me.

"Thank you for checking on me." I tell him.

"You're welcome." He gets up and walks to the door.

"Goodnight Finnick."

"Goodnight Iris." He says as he walks out.

The next morning I wake up and get ready. I walk outside and go to the bakery.

When I get there I buy bread and cookies. I go to the butcher and buy fish. I get back to my house when I see his car.

President Snow.

I walk inside and put my things on the counter. I am directed into the office where he is sitting.

"Have a seat Ms. Smith. We have very important things to discuss." I hear the door close behind me and it reminds me of the first time he visited me.

"I have come to the conclusion that you will have to be isolated for all of the disruption you have caused. When you had a burial for all of the tributes you killed, it sent the district's into a frenzy. Would you like to be in a real war?"

"No. I will stay in my home by myself, until noted otherwise." I tell him.

"Good, I'm glad you understand your circumstances. I have other meetings to attend to. For you" He says as he hands me a white rose.

He gets up and walks to the door. I wait until I see the car leave. I just sit in the chair. I hear a knocking, a pounding, at the door.

I don't get up, I don't move. I look at the rose in my hand and cry silently. I hear someone walk in. I look at him. He looks at me with a soft expression.

"What did he do?" He asks as he grabs the rose and sets it on the table. He picks me up and I put my head in his chest. He puts me down on the couch.

"Please tell me. I want to help you." He says.

"He wants me stay in isolation. I'm not allowed to come out of my house unless I get a letter from him. What else does he want me to do? He has already killed my family. What else?" I  sob.

Finnick hugs me and pulls me down beside him. My head in his shoulder leaving it soaked.

"Shh. I'll be here for you everyday. Everything will be okay." He says.

Except he didn't.

×two months later×

He has only visited me once since that day. Although Johanna visits me twice every week, if she didn't I think I would go crazy.

"What have you been up to?" I ask her as I cook eggs.

"Just the usual. I've been using my axe a bit." She says.

"That's good." I tell her as I put the eggs on a plate for her. She digs in.

"Yeah, what have you been doing in your spare time?" She asks.

"Nothing really. I've read a few books. You know, I've thought about it and I'm sure it seems like I put myself in isolation because of the games. I'm sure that's what everyone thinks."

"A lot of people do. Only the important people know though." She says.

"You're the only person I've told." I laugh at her.

"Not from my knowledge. Mr. Odair from across the street told me otherwise." She says.

"Are you and him friends?" I ask.

"Yeah, since my games we have been." She tells me.

"Did he say anything about me?" I ask her.

"Yes. Lots." She says as she rolls her eyes.

"What did he say?" I ask her.

"Why don't you ask him?" As I hear a knocking at the door.

"Johanna." I grumble.

"What he said he wanted to see you." She says as she opens the door.
