Losing Someone

Call hadn't talked to Tamara since the war because the Union and their parents said it'd be good for them to not talk again so they wouldn't cause anymore trouble until the Magisterium was 'reopened' with the opening date postponed for a grand total of 2 years. Although, he truly thought it was a punishment for what they'd done during their couple years at the Magisterium and an attempt to make them strangers again which Call feared had worked, and what was worse is that Call couldn't talk to her at all.

All the new nova auras met at 'Hud's Subs' in Manhattan while being encouraged to wear 'I Love New York' shirts for their cover as a school trip (which Call refused to do and wore white slip on Vans, black ripped jeans, a white pocket v neck , and a ripped denim jacket instead with black, gold rimmed tortoise shell sunglasses.) He was already done with this. He was only told by the Union to go there so he could, "deport to IQUA" and he only had to bring his Herschel black duffel bag since all of his belongs where sent to a post office throughout the course of the last couple of months where it had been sent from there to a location the Union wouldn't disclose.  And if that wasn't weird enough; some families had come, making a total of hundreds of people loading into first class planes that apparently only the icuas could see or perhaps, no one else cared, after all, it was New York.

Call and Tamara seperatley arrived at the IQUA since Tamara rode in her parent's private jet to help prep a few hours early with the Union.  She and Call hadn't talked since the war despite Tamara's guilt and pleads to apologize for abandoning him at Jericho's house.

They where shuffled though the doors of the humongous structure with humongous Roman styled, gold letters floating over the structure reading, 'The Palace'.   The Union huddled them to the welcome initiation where everyone was seated in a room as big as a stadium, where he quickly texted his over protective dad he was safe with his IPhone XII. He finally looked up to see everyone seated on hovering cushions which seemed to hold everyone's weight so that they sat at equal heights in alphabetical order as they where debriefed on the IQUA and the rules and expectations of the island and Palace by the Union and administration seated at a distance. They where 50 feet higher than everyone else standing on a levitating sheet of silver glass or sitting on gold hovering cushions above the glass. Yet despite all of this, Call thought the 3 hour talk was pointless since they where all given rule & guide books afterwards.

Call had been looking for Tamara but still hadn't had a chance to talk to her,  mostly since they sat in alphabetical order and Call was pulled away right when he was going to talk to her at the table she was sitting at with Gwenda, Rafe, Jasper, and Celia.  But right before he was pulled away by the Union (which he found out was because the administration wanted to make sure he was clear on what he could and couldn't do), he got a quick, clear look at her white, dazzling smile (seeming to be the result of a joke). She was prettier than ever, with a honey colored and stunning face as well as her perfectly curvy, yet slim physique. She had grown but she was still adorably small, all of this making even her confident and seductive walk in her white Van slip ons, ripped light blue jeans, with her big ruffled, off the shoulder yet cropped white top, look like one of a goddess among peasants. It was as if she obtained a golden radiance tracing her skin while walking across the stadium sized cafeteria. Call smiled to himself, she should be the center of our nova auras not magic. He was left drooling, absolutely awestruck yet jealous and protective of someone who was no longer his .
Despite what he saw during his daze, he felt as if he still had a shot. Call prepared for this because he was almost definite Tamara would look beautiful (but still, nothing prepared him for how stunning she was now).  He knew that his dad's handsomeness, charm, piercing look and deep, rich voice as well as his mom's  beautifully gentle and sweet face (which he saw in pictures), caused both of his parents to be seen as attractive by everyone meaning genetics and puberty would do him well, yet his scrawny build always embarrassed him as a kid and knowing he had a real shot with Tamara since they had dated was what gave him just enough boost to take up working out with no limits over these past couple of years.  With a personal trainer (considering his leg), he was able to obtain a lean, muscular physique, even visible through clothes. He displayed a sharp jawline and t shirt that fit around his big arms just tight enough.  He even put quite a bit into keeping his fresh, voluminous taper fade for a haircut, all of this bringing us to present day where he's heard at least 30 girls whisper, "Is that him," before giggling and laughing saying "Hi Call," while twirling their hair. He tried to politely respond with a wave and smile and but not give any of them unintentional signs.

Even when Callum was done talking the Union, still, no word was said between the two as they settled into their shared penthouse (each group got a customized one with a room for every member)The penthouse was designed with tall stucco walls, and rooms with white, glass floors and walls. Futuristic with a few artificial palm trees here and there. Since Tamara's parent's contributed a lot to ICUA, she and Call had the best penthouse among the students. Call and Tamara's rooms had windows that where floor to ceiling behind the headboards of their levitating, king sized, state of the art beds and nightstands giving Tamara a view of their penthouses private pond having lily pads, cherry blossom trees, and Koi fish while Call's showed one of the many yet most secluded and beautiful beaches at the palace. And despite their shared estate, Call didn't talk to Tamara at all unless it was for classes, yet on the second night, Tamara gave her housemate an attempt on mending their relationship, but when she knocked on the door during their first free time, Call slightly cracked the door open shirtless with messy hair.

"Are you with someone?!" she gasped, trying to see more than his unfamiliarly familiar face and more muscular than she remembered arm, leaning against his doorframe.

"Tamara even if I were, it's none of your business, I don't belong to you and I'm not latched to you so you can go and please just take your flowers with you." She looked hurt, looking for any sign of sarcasm or him being forced to do such a thing considering their undivided past.  But instead, she looked down, trying her best not to cry, turned around and left, finally realizing she may have lost the only thing dependable thing in her life. So she sadly put the white rose heads in her pond before allowing the water to tranquilize her.
