Realizing Loss

-1 Week Later-

It was the girls soccer teams first game and Call was convinced by Gigi(Gwenda), Lia (Celia), Rafe, and Jasper ( who everyone mostly calls J) to go. And he realized Tamara was captain far too late to back out.

---Call---

He leaned to Rafe and Jasper on the stadium bleachers and said almost drooling and somewhat dazed, "Why didn't you ever tell me she got so beautiful!" Jasper rolled his eyes,
"It slipped my mind," Rafe said matter of factly.
"You saw her all summer and came to my house when you weren't with her, yet you're saying it slipped your mind?" They all just laughed like brothers would, but Call wasn't laughing. His comment may have sounded sarcastic but it was far from a light joke.  They 3 had become well aquatinted after coincidentally meeting at the futuristic gym. They've been talking and working out together since. Meanwhile the girls went to the gym on their own time. He had no idea they where all so committed to fitness. No wonder they had the best bodies in the school, stars of the football, track, and apparently soccer teams. He even decided to have the same cheat day as them after he found out J, Rafe, Gigi, Lia, and Tamara shared the same cheat day since they spent so much time together.

Even with her charm, beauty, and intelligence, she was the fastest human he'd ever seen in person despite her size.  She intercepted, skillfully and flawlessly dribbled, and even scored 3 times despite the other team's aggression all within the first half. Gigi and Lia where good too, the 3 of them played with undeniable chemistry as if they'd played from the womb resulting in the score, 7-0 which only the 3 of them scored.  Everyone on their team loved the three, including the coach who let them play as forwards together.

Call knew soccer was aggressive. And maybe he was a bit delusional, but he felt like the other team wasn't sharing the love ; obviously playing nasty with specifically Tamara which was weird considering Gigi and Lia where just as good as her besides Mara's speed. But when he turned to look at his friends, he was right to see that they abandoned their, 'I LOVE YOU GIGI, LIA, and MARA'  and ' numbers 17(Mara), 18(Lia), and 19(Gigi) on the field, but numbers 20,21,and 22, in my heart' posters for their new locations which where leaning against the very end of the home teams' railing yelling at the ref, despite the distance in the huge indoor, LED lit, turf, stadium outside the Palace.

He joined his friends and looked up just in time to see Tamara jump extremely high for a header, astonishingly due to the absence of magic which is banned the moment you step on the field unlike some other new games and sports the Union created. She headed the ball with no surprise right before the defender obviously shoved Tamara as hard as she could causing Tamara's head to collide with the stone under the turf with her body milliseconds behind, audibly loud. Tamara rolled to her side, ready to get up before the defender kicked her stomach, causing her ribs to crack. The spine chilling sound could bee heard through the refs continous, aggressive tweets and the two teams yelling at eachother as Lia and Gigi sprinted to her side. A devastated "ooh" washed over the crowd. Tamara took out her pony tail to release tension and her gorgeous, long, silky hair before she put her arm up and started to stand, indicating she was fine, just before she collapsed to the ground. She had blacked out.  The blameworthy defender gave her a dirty look as she spat, "Maybe don't start a war next time." Causing Lia and Gigi to leave their friends side right after Tamara's eyes lazily fluttered open, and cuss out the defender.  They 3 boys started running towards them for a couple seconds before realizing they could fly now that the game was paused so they took to being airborne as fast as they could.  Rafe and J wrapped their arms around their girls, pulling them back as Call rushed through everyone to Tamara's side,

"I got her," he said despite the adults trying to keep him away. But he lifted her slumped yet unsurprisingly light body and flew her to the Palace. Call couldn't help but notice her soft hair,  still looking silky as it gently brushed his forearm. Her sweat made her look like she belonged in a commercial yet she somehow looked peaceful, maybe like a Fairy or magical creature Call foolishly thought looking down at her from the 90 degree angle they where in due to him holding her close in bridal style.
