When you're stuck

Just enough to feel it, and know the way out, and to know that it's a tough way out

All you have to do now is to press start on that journey

And deal with the levels until the end

Then you're free.

Daymare one: Sweet and Tangy

If you've ever seen an injured bird

And never been so close to such a tiny,

beautiful

creature before...

It's delicate.

It's specious.

And for a moment, you sit over it cautiously

Like a curious, commiserating child

And watch

And wait

And think.

Until you decide to reach out and

Delicately

Touch it

Ever so lightly.

Two things can happen:

It screeches because you've hurt it more,

Or

It will acquiesce because its been hurt so much it cant feel such a delicate touch anymore.

And the worst part is

that those thoughts

are just daymares.

Daymare Two: Negative Magnetism

You know that toy you loved so much,

the one you said you'd never let go

No matter what people say

Because to you, it wasn't a toy;

It was real,

And you had loved it

because you'd thought that even after all the tears and scuffs,

You'd never stop loving it.

And you felt it would never stop loving you.

But now,

Sometime after,

You pass by it

And see it broken.

And your gut turns and you squeeze back watery eyes because

You're the one that broke it

and not by acciedent,

But out of foolish rage

Because so many people said to move on

And the scuffs and tears added up

And it stopped looking so good

And you took a day or two off from it

And your love turned to hatred, slowly.

The sight of the toy

Broken just where and how you left it

All that history

And the huge mistake you've committed

shoved heavy weights back on your shoulders

Your gut doesn't stop turning.

You remember that these past few weeks,

You couldn't take the emotion, so you hid from it.

Forgot about it

And left it there, broken and hated.

You feel the tears coming from your eyes.

Now's the time to press play and get this game over with.

And that poor bird won't have to suffer anymore either.
