Chapter 13

Winters POV~

As we finished dinner, I went to Yang's room to retrieve her dishes, seeing that she had finished all of her food. 'At least she's eating' I went back downstairs and insisted in cleaning the dishes.

Finishing up, I start to wash and dry my hands until I felt a pair of arms wrapped around me. "I thought I said for you not to do the kids chores," I heard a raspy voice tickling my neck.

I chuckle, "I was the one who helped out in making dinner, it is only fair that I would wash the dishes. Besides, it didn't take me long and now you have a clean kitchen,"

Qrow sighed and smiled, "You are our guest, now, let's get some rest for tonight," he yawned.

I yawn as well and nodded, "Alright then, let's head back upstairs," I had started walking.

Qrow smirked and carried me bridal style, "Allow me, My Queen~"

I blush, but was too tired to care as I rested my head on his chest, hearing his steady heart beating. He smiled down at me and pecked my head.

We both arrived at the guest room Tai has offered us, a queen sized bed with a dresser on the side. Our luggage was in front of the bed. Qrow had put me down as we got to open up our luggage.

I take out my nightgown, blushing, I had started going to the bathroom.

"Ah ah ah, not so fast Ice Queen," Qrow stated, smiling. "Since we are going to be sleeping here in this room, might as well get used to undressing in front of one another," He starts unbuttoning and taking off his shirt.

I blush and looked away, "I think it's best to say that it would be better if I were to get dressed in the bathroom."

He smirks to me and took off his dress pants, leaving him in his drawers and crossed his arms. "I'm already undressed, it would be only fair if you do as well."

I bite my lip and sigh, "Alright, f-fine," I mumbled and started taking off my uniform. I unbutton my top as it only revealed my white tanktop. I start to take off my pants as they left me in my short white leggings. Blushing, I quickly take off my top and put on my nightgown.

Looking over to him, he bit his lip and put on some sweatpants, "You are too adorable,"

I rolled my eyes and got comfortable in my clothes, putting my hair down from the bun.

I heard footsteps approaching me as a pair of arms around my waist and his chin on my shoulder. "You look cute in this night gown of yours," he peppers kisses on my neck.

Biting my lip, I hold his arms, "As much as I like to have this session of teasing, I need rest,"

Qrow chuckles and nods, "Okay Snowflake, lets get some rest," he carries my up from my feet, earning a gasp from me. He laid me down on the bed as he joined in soon after, warming the bed. He held me close, running his fingers through my hair. "Good night Winter,"

"Good night Qrow," I smiled and fell asleep.

Qrow's POV~

I started to wake up with Winter getting up and starting her routine as always. I pull her to the bed, earning a yelp from her, "Go back...to sleep," I sigh.

She sighs as well, "Qrow...I need to—"

"Leave now and I will tease you endlessly until I feel tired," I threatened tiredly.

She hesitated and gets back into bed, "Only for a few minutes,"

"Yeah Yeah, damn, it's 3:00 I'm the morning," I sigh, cuddling her close.

Winter chuckled, hugging me close as I heard her fall asleep.

I smile and fell asleep.

*Timeskip*

Winter POV

I wake up to Qrow, nuzzling in my neck. Smiling, I kiss his head as he started to groan awake.

"I can't believe you woke me up in three in the morning," he groaned, turning his back toward me.

I chuckled and propped my elbow up, "Sorry little birdie, I didn't mean to make you so grumpy," I ran my hand through his hair.

Qrow was silent for a moment and sighed, turning around then quickly wrapping his arms around me, tickling my ribs. "Don't call me 'little birdie'!"

I started to laugh, squirming to try to get out of his grasp, "Ah! Stop stop!" I laughed, tears in my eyes from the tickling. He slowed to a stop and turned me towards him, smiling to me and wiping my tears of joy. He then pecks my lips, "Good morning my Snowflake,"

I blushed, "Morning Qrow,"

He chuckled, "Let's get ready for today, Tai and I are going to plan on what we need to do from now,"

I nod and started to get up, "Alright,"

We both started to get ready, getting into our usual attire for...well...anything. I was thinking on where to start, he could go to Mystral just to make sure Lionheart has the relic protected at Haven Academy. Or maybe we could go to Atlas first for some support, but the ships might be backed up and the use of transports won't do no good because of the event...we could find some huntsman that could help us...I think Mer-

"Guys, we have a problem!" Tai yelled out the door.

We both looked at each other and rushed out of the room, meeting him outside the hall. His hand was on his forehead in distress as he was pacing up and down the hall. "What's wrong?" I asked him.

"Ruby...she's gone,"

Qrow POV

Damn it. Well, I expected her to go for what's good for Remnant... why does she have to be like her mother?

"I can explain that and I know where she's going, she's not alone," I explained.

Tai looked at me with those eyes...those same dead eyes, "What were you thinking?! She's just a kid!"

"She wasn't a kid out in Beacon! She is mature enough to go on her own, she has a team on her side that will help her...I will keep look out for her if you want,"

Tai sighs, "No, I have to go get her and-"

"What about Yang...what she is feeling now is worse when Raven left her..." I hold his shoulder. "She needs her dad,"

Tai looks away and sighs, "Fine, but if anything happens-"

"If anything happens you will drag me to my grave, got it," I chuckled.

Winter sighed, "Are you sure you both aren't related?"

I laughed and hugged her waist close, "Trust me, I'm lucky to even survive four years with him at the academy," I looked at her, "You good with waiting for me while I track down pipsqueak?"

Winter sighs, "You have to do what you got to do,"

I hold her cheek and rubbed it gently with the pad of my thumb, "Just for a few months, I'll be back before you know it,"

She puts her hand on top of mine and nods, "Okay, I'll be ready and waiting. I'll look out for Yang as well,"

I smile and kissed her forehead, "Thank you," I get my sword and gave Winter one last kiss before flying off...
