BILL/SIR POV
I got to carry her to bed. it was wonderful to have her back in my arms. I wish I could sleep with her. what I wouldn't give just to hold her. knowing when I wake in the morning she will be there. I sat on her bed with her in my arms. I just held on tight. I didn't want to put her down. I wanted to hold on to this moment.
She spent the whole day in the game room. I knew she would love this place. she has always wanted her own pool table. When I suggested watching Jurassic Park in 3D her eyes lit up. I love that about her little things make her happy. It's all the little things I do that add up. she isn't someone who cares about money. Or what I can buy her. she was just happy being with me. I know I messed all that up. I suffered too. every day without her went on and on. I haven't smiled in forever. I never knew she was my smile.
I pray we can get to a point where she loves me. I hope one day I will be able to say I am sorry. I know I am. I feel the guilt. I never felt guilty before. So, its new to me. all I want is for us to be happy again. for her to know that we were meant to be. she is my world. I remember when I first saw her.
(FLASHBACK)
I was driving past this small park. On my way home. When I saw a girl on the swings. You could tell she was crying. Billy made me stop. I pulled over. He walked over to her. her head was down. her hair was flying in the wind. When she looked up at Billy. she had the saddest eyes. I have ever seen. He got in front of her and kneeled.
"What's wrong"? Billy asks very concerned
"Do you really care"? she asks with an attitude
"Yes, "I do otherwise". "I wouldn't have stopped". "You are far too beautiful to be sitting here alone and crying". Billy told her
She cried harder.
"Nobody has ever called me beautiful". "My whole life". "I have been treated worse than the dog". "My family don't love me enough to even care where I am". "you are the first person to talk to me". "everyone hates me because of my sister". "My parents don't want me". "I am all alone". She tells me crying her eyes out.
"Not anymore, I am here. I'm not going anywhere". "What's your name"? I ask her
"Cheyanne what's yours"? she asks
"You can call me Billy". "Tell me why are you here"? I ask
"I would rather be anywhere than home". "I come here after school do my homework". "I stay till it's almost dark out". "if it's raining I stay at the library till they close". she tells me
"Are they abusing you"? I ask. I already know the answer.
"Always". "I am the unwanted one". "I would run away, but I have nowhere to go". "I would just end up on the street". "At least there I have a roof and food". "The day I can escape from that house". "will be the best day of my life". she tells me
It started getting dark
"I should get home". "thanks for talking to me". she says
"No, "I am giving you a ride home". I tell her
"It's okay" she says
You can see she doesn't want to be a bother.
"No, you are getting a ride". I insisted.
I grabbed her hand and lead her to my truck. It was cute watching someone that short. trying to get in my truck. She had to jump. I wanted to give her a ride. I wanted to know. she would get there safe. Plus, I wanted to know where she lived. When we pull up.
"Thank you" she says so sweetly
"No need". "Here take this". "it has my number on it". "I don't care if its 3am if you need me" "call me". I will be there". I tell her looking directly into her eyes
She grabbed it and held on tight. She walked into the house. I can hear shouting. Billy told me to wait. He knew something was off. she came running out with a slap mark across her face. She jumped in the truck we took off. I took her to Denny's. I wanted her to be around people. where she would feel the safest. We sat and talked about her home life. she told me about Jack. Billy had to have her. he was hooked the moment he saw her. I have to admit I felt it too. there was something about her. that drew both of us to her.
A couple hours later. I drove her home. I told her to wait in the truck. I knocked on the door. Her father was in front of me.
"You listen you bastard". "If she ever gets another mark", "bruise or anything from any of you". "I will fucking end you". "I will make you suffer in ways you can't believe". "Tell your daughter to back off too". "I have no problem with making all of you pay". "for what you have done to her". "I will not allow any of you to do it again". "this is your only warning". Bill says in his Dom Voice.
I lifted my shirt to show my gun.
"Do we have an understanding"? I ask him with the same tone
"Yes, we do". "I will not let it happen again". he tells me scared
Good he should be scared. I walk back to my truck. I open the passenger side door. She is staring at me with them beautiful bright green eyes.
"Sweets its safe now". "They won't touch you again". I tell her
"Are you sure"? she asks scared still
"I wouldn't let you go back". "if I didn't know it would stop". "If anything happens you call me". I remind her
She jumped into my arms. hugged me tighter than I have ever been hugged.
"Thank you, my hero", she says crying
(FLASHBACK)
I lay her down. pull the covers over her. then kiss her forehead. I walk out the door.
