I am alone in a dark tunnel.  I hear voices laughing at me, insulting me, hurting me.  I start to run through the tunnel, wishing for the voices to stop.  As I travel further, the voices get louder and louder.  I tell them to stop but it just gets worse.  I turn around to see if someone's following me as i continue to run.   Suddenly I hit a wall:  it's the end of the tunnel, I'm trapped.  Shadows are coming forward...  I let myself slide on the wall and sit on the cold ground.  The voices are all in front of me, calling me names and laughing at me.  Tears are streaming down my cheeks.  The sound get louder.  "Orphan!" "Stupid little girl". "Weak".  A shadow walk towards me.  She puts her hand in the air as I close my eyes, prepared to feel the pain. She swings her fist and...

"AAAAAAAAAHH!!"

I wake up like this. With the same nightmare every night. My clothes are sweaty and it's hard for me to breathe. I start to cry in silence. I feel the same way everytime I fall asleep. Alone.

I hear footsteps in the stairs so I dry my tears quickly.
"Why did you scream like you were eaten alive?!" says Eden. Eden Burke is my best friend and a kind of big sister. When I ran away from my first orphanage, she found me in a park as I was sleeping near my favorite tree, a weeping willow. She told me that, if I wanted, I could live with her and her little sister so I woudn't be alone anymore. I gladdly accepted.

Eden is an 18  years old girl that lives with her sister Rachel in a small but cozzy apartment in New York. Their parents left them when Eden was only 14, so she raised her sister on her own since then.  The two girls have long, blonde hair, bright blue eyes and a permanent serious look on their face.  Those girls are my friends and my family, I don't know what I would have become without them.

My name is Faith Theodosia Ranson and I'm what people call a « lost girl ».  I never knew my parents and I never will.  They left me in the forest as baby and if I didn't have the luck to be found by a bunch of hikers, I wouldn't be part of this world right now.   This is exactly why I don't want to know them.  My life is now peaceful with my family and I reallyyy don't need more drama after my "run away from the orphanage" thing.

"It's just a nightmare don't worry... " I said, taking deep breath.
-Just a nightmare? uh? You have one of those every night.  You're sure you don't want to talk about it?
-A hundred percent sure!, I smile brightly.
-If you say so... "

Eden leaves my room silently.  I jump out of bed and walk to the bathroom so I can take a shower before school.  Before I could put my hand on the door handle, a blonde tornado hugs me like she would never see me again.        "You okay?" Asked Rachel.
"Yeah, don't worry, Rach, I'm fine, everything's fine!
-Okay.  Hurry a little, we can't miss the bus today.
-Pfff.  Like it happens everyday...
-If you consider that missing it 4 days on 5 isn't pratically everyday, you're right missy! "Says Rachel as she walks away.
I laugh and get in the bathroom, a little smile on my face.
