"Get me the files from previous years."
"Organize the statistics from last season's market."
"Find the latest trend."
Jae Eun has been running in and out of the conference room fulfilling all of Min Hyun's commands. He was kind and thoughtful when they went for lunch and now he is on full work mode. Ha Na and Min Ji watch Jae Eun with pitiful eyes. He did not ask for anyone else but her and she is unable to ask anyone else as she feels like she should be doing it all.
Jae Eun's well kept appearance from the morning slowly unraveled and you can obviously tell she has been running around as she heaves. She threw her hair up into a messy bun and switched her heels for flats.
"Should we help?" Min Ji asks Ha Na.
"I don't want to be in that mess," Ha Na replies.
"He's working her like a dog," Min Ji comments.
"They had a bad fate to begin with," Ha Na shakes her head.
"They came back from lunch looking fine," Min Ji points out.
"He fed her to give her energy," Ha Na sighs. They exchange glances and sigh. They return to do work, but cannot help to keep watch on Jae Eun.
"Here," Jae Eun says trying to control her breathing in front of Min Hyun. He taps the clear spot on the table beside him and she puts it down without him even looking up. She goes towards the other files and begins going through them to organize and mark important information. Min Hyun glances at her after a while and smiles at the effort she puts in.
The day continues and after a majority of the paperwork is in the conference room, the two continue to discuss future marketing strategies. Ha Na and Min Ji peak inside and notice the tense air in the room. They see that the two are looking at one computer and Jae Eun is talking.
"Will they be fine?" Min Ji asks.
"I don't know," Ha Na answers. "Should we interrupt and say we are clocking out?"
"You think it'll stop them?" Min Ji raises her eye brows.
"Only one way to find out," Ha Na shrugs. She knocks at the door and opens it. The two look up from their spots to see them.
"Ha Na, Min Ji, do you need something?" Jae Eun asks. The two look from her to Min Hyun.
"We just wanted to let you know it is already eight and we're clocking out," Min Ji says.
"That's fine. Go ahead," Min Hyun nods and lets them go. Jae Eun just waves at them and goes back to discussing the inbound marketing plan they had created for one of the clients.
"I guess they're staying," Ha Na says tapping Min Ji to head out. As they walk to their cars they discuss the day.
"They just met, but they have a lot of chemistry," Min Ji observes.
"Unless Jae Eun is dying inside," Ha Na chuckles.
"At this rate, the sales we make with double before the end of the year," Min Ji says half jokingly.
"Drinks at my place?" Ha Na chuckles.
"Call!" Min Ji agrees with a cheeky smile. The two go their own ways and meet again at Ha Na's. While the two have dinner and drinks, Jae Eun and Min Hyun lose track of time. It is well into the evening and they are of the very few still at work.
"If we can get at least thirty percent from the beginning we should be able to have a good foundation," Min Hyun comments.
"If we do, we can incorporate new ideas and see what would give positive results," Jae Eun agrees. She jots down all of the ideas that they have made and highlights the ones to give higher rankings. Min Hyun's phone rings and he excuses himself. She nods and instead of leaving the room like she expected, he answers it right there.
"Hello?" he answers. Jae Eun tries to busy herself with other things, but could not help but listen in.
"Min Hyun, when are you coming home?" Min Hyun checks the time and is surprised at how late it is. "Mom and dad have been waiting. They were already mad that you didn't even go home after your flight."
"I lost track of time. You know how it is," Min Hyun sighs scratching his head. He gestures to Jae Eun and she nods and begins to clear things up. "I'm starting to clean up. I'll see you at the house."
"Whatever," his sister rolls her eyes and hangs up. Min Hyun glances at Jae Eun and apologizes.
"Someone waiting for you at home?" she smiles. Despite living on her own for a long time, family is important to her.
"Yeah," he chuckles. The two work together to clean up and place them in his office for easier access the next day. "I guess we can finish up tomorrow and set an appointment."
"Sounds like a good plan," Jae Eun nods. Min Hyun grabs his things and heads out while Jae Eun makes sure to log out and fix her desk. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"See you," he nods and leaves. He considers waiting for her, but decides that it would not be the best decision.
After confirming that Min Hyun had left, she leans back on her seat and sighs. She closes her eyes and relaxes before stretching high with a groan of relief. A cough surprises her and she jumps in her seat.
"Sorry, I forgot something," Min Hyun apologizes awkwardly. She quickly turns away and covers her face with her hands. He rushes into his office and grabs a bag.
"Of course it would happen," Jae Eun groans. She glances at his office and sighs. She lets down her hair, which is still in waves and changes back to her heels. When she stands and gathers her things, Min Hyun reappears. They avert their eyes and walk together to the parking lot. Min Hyun curses to himself as he remembers they are parked right next to each other.
"Are you use to long days?" Min Hyun makes conversation. Jae Eun was not expecting it and nods instead of verbally answering. Yes, they spoke casually during lunch, but once they were at the office Min Hyun was different. The different sides of him is something Jae Eun was nod use to. "Why are you so startled?"
Jae Eun blushes. "I wasn't expecting it."
Min Hyun chuckles. "Well, going the same way without a conversation would make it more stressful, wouldn't it?"
"Depends on the person," Jae Eun chuckles. Min Hyun doesn't react like she expected and she quickly apologizes, but he reveals that he was teasing her. Again, Jae Eun was surprised by his playfulness.
"You were joking right?" Min Hyun bumps her shoulder. She smiles.
"It does depend on the person, but I for one think this conversation happened for the better," she confesses. He smiles triumphantly and laughs.
"That's good," he says. They reach their floor and she is surprised to see him get off the same time as her. "It surprised me too, but we parked next to each other."
"But you didn't say anything before!" she exclaims.
"We just met," he shrugs. She clicks her tongue and laughs.
"Well, I hope we continue to work well with each other," she bows.
"I hope so, too," he bows his head. They both get into their cars and Jae Eun had forgotten, Min Hyun had drove hers and had to readjust everything. Min Hyun notices and chuckles as he sees her fall back from how far he had moved the seat. He organizes his things and sets the GPS to his house. The two start the cars at similar times so Jae Eun gestures for him to go first. He nods and pulls out. It was a long day for the both of them and they were sure to fall asleep quickly when they get home.
