I let her go in by herself. I stand outside the door next to the security men outside of it waiting for her. Ghost took her sister Elena, but I couldn't tell her that. I got the call a couple minutes after she dozed off. After all the loss I read in her file, I can relate. I didn't want her to be scared.
"You got this." Is what I said when I dropped her off.
A little smile appeared on her face and before she closed the door. "Don't let things get personal." Then the door was closed.
I didn't, until I read more of her file while driving.
After her parents and baby brother died in a shooting she wanted to train, become FBI and stop serious threats, only to fall victim again to her boyfriend Brandon.
I lost someone to terrorist, the same one that Ghost tried to contact to sell armed weapons to. I was nervous and I haven't felt this way in a long time.
The door opens and comes out, her face concerned.
"I'm good." She gives me a thumbs up.
"I will now take you to a safe house. You're aunt and Elena have been moved to a safer town with new alias's" I inform her.
"You're going a town over, keep your close friends around to avoid suspicion. Your texts, calls, and location will be tracked, but with this." I pull out an iPhone, handing it to her.
"You have my number, Stan, and Irene. They were apart of the group you talked to, they're with us."
"They said I'm getting a new car and you're living in the house with me?" She recalls.
"Yes Im your new boyfriend." I nod, opening the door for her.
"Wow, really? Not even a first date first?" She jokes and I smile before shutting the door.
I realize my face warm before my face straightens again, the smile drops and I clear my throat as I jog over to the next side.

I don't know when I'll see Elena again. It's okay she'll be safe away from me. My aunt is pretty badass, she'll keep her safe.
The ride wasn't that long, only an hour ish away. It was in a suburban neighborhood with nice middle class houses.
I lived in a mobile home my whole like, this way of life seemed foreign to me.
"You okay?" Mitch asks as he glances over at me.
"Peachy." I pull my feet into the seat and hug my knees.
We pull into a driveway of a light grey single family house. A garage, a front yard with bushes and flowers and trees, a backyard presumably. The door next to me opens, the words coming out of Mitch's mouth are muddled as I stare at the house.
"Lauren. There's only one bedroom set right now, I'll sleep on the floor until the couch ships in." He jingles the keys in his hands and I follow him to the front door.
"No it's okay, sleep with me." I offer.
"Wow, before a first date?" He finally jokes, he could see how off I am.
After what those people in the room said to me im not feeling it.
"I'm sorry." My voice sounds weak.
"It's okay. Lay down and rest." His hand is on my back slightly pushing me towards a door, he opens it to the master bedroom.
"I'll be here when you need it."
My eyes focus on him, everything blurred and my heart begins to slow down.
"Thank you." I face him completely, stepping forward and pulling him into a hug.
He slowly pays my back, hugging being something foreign to him.
Thank you but I'm sorry. I can't just stay here. I have to drink, do something to distract myself. Sure he's a CIA agent but will it really be that hard to sneak out? Do something to distract myself? I hate this feeling. The world blurring, my eyes looking for anything to focus on, the rooms feeling as if their closing in on me.
My life is gone again.
