Since I started team flash at STAR labs they'd been a consistent talk about science and I couldn't help but feel like an idiot every time am around them. So that's why I decided to do night collage to get my degree in physics, when I was 19 I got a minor degree in biology but I wanted more.

To say going to work, helping team flash out and keeping my collage work a secret was profoundly difficult was an understatement. I was sitting with Cisco and Caitlin in the Cortex waiting for Barry.

"So where were you last night?" Caitlin asked while lazily scrolling through the computer. My eye widened slightly before I opened and closed my mouth like a fish.

"Yeah you missed movie night." Cisco complained pouting while shoving a screw driver into a small piece of metal.

"Oh, you know I just, um, fell asleep." I stated sounding more like a question. Okay as you can already guess thinking on my feet wasn't one of my many talents.

"Okay..." Caitlin answered a little unsure of what if meant by my question/excuse thingy.

Checking my watch I mumble a small curse remembering the paper I had due from Monday "I have to go." I stated quickly running out of the cortex and to my car. If I was ever going to finish this I'd have to start now.

I sat in jitters with a pile of papers surrounding me on the small coffee table. I had been working all day and I still hadn't even been able to finish my fist page yet. How the hell am I meant to write 5000 words on the the movement of velocity required to...la la la la. Ughhhh. I was never going to pass this anyway it's totally fine I guess I can just become a creepy cat lady for the rest of my life, while living in a flat above the corner shop. "Hey, babe haven't seen you all day." My boyfriend Barry aka the flash said wearing a bright smile while coming to sit opposite me.

I quickly scrambled to cover all the papers and shove them back into my bag. "Yeah I've just been busy." I nodded coughing a little awkwardly.

He frowned in reply looking over the table where my papers once were. "What have you been 'busy' with?" He asked in curiosity obviously trying to pry why am being so weird out of me.

"Work." I squeaked grabbing my coffee cup and drinking its contents. I so wished that was something a little stronger right now.

"STAR labs work?" He asked not sure why I'd be giving stuff to do outside the lab "Caitlin and Cisco just said that you ran off this morning." He mentioned  before getting out of his seat ready to leave.

"Where are you going?" I asked quickly unsure if I'd done something wrong. He gave a small chuckle at my reaction before walking closer to me.

"Home. Am tired." He groaned out resting his her on my shoulder for dramatic effect "are you coming?" He asked quietly.

"Okay." I murmured lifting his head and smiling at his tired eyes. Leaning forward his rested a small kiss on my right cheek before lifting my up by my hands and dragging me out of the coffee shop.

Once we had reached our apartment he quickly made his way to the couch and fell flat into its soft cushions. I leaned against the doorway of the living room watching his lazy figure rest peacefully as a small smile drifted onto my face. It didn't take long for me to slip my shoes of and join him on the sofa, resting under his arm. "Where have you been this past week I hardly see you." He mumbles with his eyes still closed.

I feel my heart rate pick up and my mouth hang open "oh, it's just um you know busy." I state awkwardly "work and stuff." I finish wincing knowing my lie was terrible.

"Even when I can't see you it's obvious when you lie." He admitted moving away from me and sitting facing me. "You can tell me." He says frowning.

"Trust me it's nothing." I laughed shaking it off and getting up to go to bed. "No you coming?" I asked weekly.

The next day was slow it turns out that even some meta-humans are stronger than Barry. Last night he had run into an old school bully that turned to iron. Wow I mean I thought Elle smith was bad. "How can I beat him?" Barry asked pacing angrily in the cortex.

"We haven't figured it out yet but I promise if you give us time-" Cisco started but Barry just cut him off by slamming his hands down onto the desk.

"There no time! Even with my powers I feel powerless against him!" He seethed breathing heavily. I rested my hand on his shoulder trying to add comfort to his distressed state.

"Wait." I stopped grabbing a piece of paper and scribbling some stuff onto it. "If you had the right speed and angle you could take him down with one punch." I breathed out frowning while looking over at Cisco and Dr wells. "I mean if you got 3.5 miles away minimum and went at the right velocity..."

"He'd have to go past Mach one at the least." Caitlin exclaimed in objection.

"Faster than the speed of sound creating a mini super sonic boom." I finished for myself smiling when seeing Cisco smile in approval but frowning once I seen everyone else's confused gaze as to why I'd know that.

I sighed opening the door to the apartment and closing it behind me. I'd come home late from STAR labs after trying to finish my work only to realise I'd left it home. "Y/N?" Barry shouted from what am guessing is the living room.

"Here." I called back hanging my coat up and walking into the room. He was sat on the sofa reading a piece of paper with a small frown etched onto his face. "What you looking at?" I asked plopping down next to him.

"Collage of Central city." He read quietly passing me the paper "is this yours?" He asked with an emotion I couldn't tell in his voice.

I looked down at the scribbled notes on the paper seeing it was a rough copy of my assignment. "It could be." I sheepishly replied slowly looking up at him only to find a grin spread onto his face.

"Y/N this is amazing." He exclaimed "my only question is how come your at collage? And why didn't you tell me?" He asked frowning.

"Because I was embarrassed. Every time you, Cisco or Caitlin talked about something I'd feel like am in 3rd grade calculus again." I complained messing with my thumbs not meeting his eyes.

He grabbed my hand and made me look at him "you never have to be embarrassed in front of me. Scientists or not I love you either way." He replied rubbing small patterns onto the back of my hand.
