Barnabas laid in his bed as a bunch of pain shot through his neck. Angel peaked her head through the doorway, tears streaming down her face.

"Angel come over here and lay next to me." Whispered Barnabas in a raspy voice.

Angel rushed over to her father, laying herself next to him. She buried her face in Barnabas's chest, letting out a bunch of whimpers.

"Daddy. Don't die." Whispered Angel in a long sob.

Angelique appeared at the doorway, looking as if she was thinking to herself. After a while she made her way over to Josette, who stood by the fireplace.

"Mademoiselle?" Asked Angelique.

Josette turned around with anger burning in her eyes. Angelique stepped back a bit, looking a bit taken back.

"How dare you not tell me you had a love affair with Barnabas?! You could of told me Angel was his!" Snapped Josette.

Barnabas suddenly stared at Angelique and Josette. Angelique took Josette's hand quickly, taking her mistress out into the hallway.

"I would have told you mademoiselle,  but you were to happy that you were going to marry Barnabas. I couldn't possibly take that away from you and I promise you that Angel will stay away from her father." Angelique whispered.

Josette looked into the room, seeing Angel wrapped inside Barnabas's arms. She gave a shook of her head, turning back to Angelique.

"I couldn't possibly tell Angel that she couldn't see her father anymore. Look Angelique! They love each other. They can't be seperated." Replied Josette.

Angelique starred in through the door, seeing Angel beside Barnabas. Anger filled her heart as she rushed in, grabbing Angel from him. Angel let out a cry as she was lifted away from her father.

"Josette can you go get the cross that you brought?" Asked Angelique.

Josette made her way away from the bedroom, leaving the three alone. Angel buried her head into her mother's chest, letting out loud painful screams. Angelique placed her hand on Angel's back, trying to calm her down.

"Angelique?" Wondered Barnabas, looking up at her.

Angelique bent down as soon as her daughter had fallen asleep.

"What is it?" She replied.

Barnabas felt Angelique holding onto his hand, feeling a bit excited that Angelique hadn't left him. He let out a smile so small that Angelique couldn't see it. Pain shot through his neck once he opened his mouth to speak.

"Angelique! Help me! I'm dying!" Said Barnabas in a low yell.

Angelique placed her free hand over her mouth, running out of the room with Angel.
