Sicheng stared out the window at the gray sky and gray clouds and gray people passing by. He was feeling slightly gloomy since he was stuck inside so he decided to head outside. He hopped off his bed and left the bedroom. All his other members were gathered in the living room and kitchen area. Ten and Johnny were on the floor playing a video game together with Jaehyun and Haechan cheering behind them on the couch. Sitting on the chair next to the couch was Mark, who was less focused on the game and more focused on Haechan. Sicheng smiled at his members and walked into the kitchen. Doyoung and Taeyong were arguing about something and Taeil was trying to calm them down without dropping the spatula in his hand. It smelled like Taeil was cooking something delicious, but he decided he could come back and eat.
"Taeyong, I'm going to head out for some fresh air, ok?"
"Yeah sure, just come back soon," he responded before going back to arguing. Sicheng smiled at how immature the were being and grabbed his jacket. He was halfway to the door before he turned around and grabbed an umbrella. They only had two umbrellas in the dorm so the members tended to stay inside. Sicheng walked outside and inhaled the wonderful smell of the rain. He grinned and started skipping down the sidewalk. The streets were relatively empty except for a few shoppers who got trapped in the rain and were rushing to get home. He jumped in some puddles on the way and smiled at how fun it was to act like a child again. He reached an intersection and had to wait for the oncoming traffic to pass. For some reason, Sicheng felt like he was forgetting something. Suddenly, he remembered.
Where's Yuta?
He frantically tried to remember if he had seen Yuta at the dorms, but he couldn't recall seeing him. Also, both the umbrellas were still there when Winwin got one, so if he left, then he didn't have an umbrella. He vaguely remembered Yuta leaving the dorms earlier in the evening but he would have been back by now. The road was finally free to cross, so Sicheng ran across looking for his band member. Sicheng was very close with Yuta because they were both foreigners, so they always had each other's backs. He looked around, but Yuta was nowhere to be seen. Again, Sicheng remembered something.
The convenience store.
Yuta liked to walk to the convenience store when he wanted to clear his head. Sicheng immediately ran to the store, trying not to slip on the way there. Finally, he turned the corner and saw the store. It was open 24/7 so it was the only store with lights at the moments. Sicheng ran across the road, heart beating fast. He shook his umbrella and slowly opened the door. There were only a few people in there who were waiting for the rain to pass. However, Yuta wasn't one of them. Sicheng walked up and down the aisles, eyes scanning the store as he looked for Yuta.
"Poor thing, he must have frozen by now," Sicheng thought. He looked one last time before leaving the store with a heavy heart. He opened his umbrella and looked around before getting ready to go back to the dorms.
"SICHENG WAIT!" someone screamed from behind Sicheng. He turned around to find the familiar voice and was confronted by none other than Yuta. Sicheng smiled and jogged towards his member. Yuta's hair and clothes were drenched with rain. His nose, cheeks, and lips were bright pink from the cold.
"What happened?!?? Why didn't you get an umbrella?" Sicheng practically screeched.
"It wasn't raining when I left, but when it started to drizzle, I was too far from the dorms to go back anyways. I was just gonna stay here till it stopped, but it wasn't stopping. I was just about to make a run for it, but I saw you. I'm so happy you came," Yuta said. He suddenly averted his gaze and said something so quietly that Sicheng wouldn't hear him if he wasnt standing right next to him.
"I was gonna ask you to come with me, but I didn't want to disturb you,".
Sicheng could see a slight pink blush forming on the other's cheeks. He smiled and replied,
"You can always ask me to go with you, silly. I'd rather we both freeze than you freeze alone,". Yuta looked up and smiled at the taller. Sicheng stepped closer to Yuta so that their shoulders were touching. Yuta wrapped his cold hand around Sicheng's on the handle on the umbrella. Just like that, hands intertwined, they walked back to the dorms, content with each other's company.
