Meeting with a Goddess

Percy's POV:

I woke up after having the weirdest dream. It involved several races, ninja, a bird and a sword with three triangles stacked on each other. It also showed a man who radiated pure evil much like Kronos. I sighed as I sat on Blackjack and Zelda started asking questions.

They started off simple, like how old was Blackjack, or how long have I known him. But they became increasingly annoying. She asked what his exact wingspan was, what his hooves were made of, who his parents were. I just held my urge to groan as I noticed the guards giving me looks of pity.

"So, how does he fly? Like a bird? Or does he glide with occasional flaps of his wing? Does he ever get tired, what do you feed him?" Zelda asked in a familiar Rachel fashion

'Does she EVER SHUT UP!?' Blackjack complained to me mentally and I groaned

"He flys like normal I guess? He does get tired and I feed him... mostly donuts now that I think of it" I said and Zelda went quiet

'YES!!! VICTORY!!!' Blackjack screamed at me but the silence was short lived

"What are Donuts?" She asked and I sighed

"They are like sugared bread shaped in a cylinder wheel. Luckily, I know how to make them because Blackjack here requires a payment of ten donuts every time I ask him to give someone else a ride, which hardly ever happens" I said and Zelda nodded before glancing at his wings "You want to give it a shot?" I asked

"No, no! I am good, I mean, I don't think its proper that a princess take her guards horse when she has one of her own you know?" She stammered out and I raised an eyebrow before looking at her horse

"Is this true?" I asked

'No, it is false, she is just nervous around high places' she said and I smiled slightly

"Afraid of heights, are you?" I asked and She looked at me in shock

"N-No! O-Of course not! What made you think such a preposterous thing?" She said defensively but it caused me to smile

"Come on Zelda, a quick flight won't hurt, trust me. Blackjack will always catch you" I said and the guards decided to back me up on this

"Come on Princess, it would be a once in a life time opportunity for you to fly on a winged horse" One guard said

"Imagine the feeling of the wind rushing through your hair!" The second one said

"Oh alright, but you're coming up with me Percy" Zelda said as she dismounted and cautiously walked over to Blackjack who looked at her as I quickly got down and took the blanket off

I then climbed back on and helped Zelda onto the saddle behind me and I felt her tense up as she felt Blackjack's wings ruffle slightly.

"You ready Princess" I said and she gripped my torso tightly as I felt her nod "Blackjack"

'Yes Boss?' he asked already knowing what I wanted

"VTOL" I said and he shot forward and spread his wings before flapping once and launching into the air as he tilted straight up and kept flying

Zelda was screaming into my back as she tightened her grip while I laughed as I felt he air blow through my hair. After a few minutes, we leveled off and I looked down and saw that we were well above the ground.
