Snow's Story (An autobiography of a wolf)

Beginning of a New Life

     I had no idea where to look for them! We all went separate ways. Well...it was getting dark and who knew what is around at night time. I found a cave and slept in there.

     It was a rough night. It was really cold and windy. When I fell asleep, I kept on dreaming about Artemis and the pups. I couldn't go to sleep. I went on top of this rock and looked up at the moon. The moon was beautiful that night. I howled, hoping that someone would here me. I waited a few minutes and then I heard a distant howl. I smiled and went to sleep.

     The next morning I woke up early. My belly was grumbling loud. I went into the forest looking for something to eat. I saw a white bunny, the size of a ball. I crouched down and crawled over to it. The bunny didn't see me because the grass was really tall. Once I got close enough, I pounced on it and bit it fast. I tore the bunny into shreds and ate peacefully. The thing about eating bunnies is that you get thirsty fast. I walked into the forest looking for a lake. Then I see a big, furry, black thing at a lake. Mom told me about these, she said to stay away from them because they like to eat pups. I saw a big rock and his behind that.

     The thing was eating fish. Um...what are these called again? I think they are jaguars? No. Kangaroos? No...they are...bears! The bear was taking forever. I grew restless and crawled to the water. I tried to be really quiet, but as I was crawling I stepped on a stick, and it broke. I looked at the bear, the bear looked at me. It stood up on it's hind legs and roared. I whimpered a little. The bear was on all four legs now, it ran over to me. Suddenly, a wolf jumped in between of the bear and I.

"Run to the tree, little one", said the wolf.

     I didn't argue, I ran to the tree as fast as I could. The wolf growled at the bear, then attacked it. The wolf bit the bears ear and scratched it's eye. The bear, of course, got mad. It roared in pain and anger. It slapped the wolf and the wolf went flying in the air, she/he dropped to the floor with a big THUMP! The wolf got up and growled louder, she/he attacked the bear from the front, the bear tried to slap again, but the wolf dodged, he/she jumped on the bears back and bit it. The bear roared again, the wolf then went in front of the bear and growled, the bear ran away into the forest.

" Are you okay?" the wolf asked me panting.

"W-who are you?" I asked.

"I am Argentum, it means silver in Latin", she said.

" I am Snow, it means snow in English",I said.

     She had green eyes and sliverish fur. She was tall and furry, but not that furry. Argentum studied me.

"You are lost. Aren't you?" Argentum said.

"Not really lost, but without shelter and a pack", I replied

"No wolf should be without a pack. Unless you are a lone wolf, but they are enemies to all wolves."

"My pack was attacked by the rebels."

"Well, we can talk about that later. Follow me to my pack."

     Once we got into the cave, every pup came up to me. Asking a bunch of questions. I looked at them and then at Argentum.

"Okay. Okay. Everyone, this is Snow. We need to get her to the dining area. Who wants to take her?" Argentum yelled over all the noise.

"Me!"

"Me!"

"Me!" yelled all the pups.

"Hmmmm...Parvulus." she said.

"Yes!" a small brown pup came up to me.

"I am guessing you are Parvulus. I am Snow." I said.

"Hi. I am Parvulus, which means small one in Latin. This is the Latin Pack. We all speak Latin. Only my mom,brother, and I speak English. By the way my mom is Argentum." Parvulus said.

     She lead me to a big room with stacks of meat. I started to drool a little bit, but then licked my lips and looked at Parvulus.

"This is the dining room?" I asked.

"No, this is the kitchen. This is the dining room." she lead me into a room with leaf seats and a table made of dirt.

     She gave me two full chickens and a leaf of water. I chewed as fast as I could and drank water afterwards. I was full. Parvulus looked astonished at me.

"Well, you look tired. Follow me, we have a spare room in my den", she said leading me somewhere."Here you go. There is some leaves in that corner and sheep wool in that box. If you need anything call me."

     The room was small, but I didn't care. I got some sheep wool from the box and put it in a corner. I spread it out a little bit. Then I laid down and drifted off to sleep.
