You stomped your foot in frustration, her cheeks puffing out and your hands clenched in fists. "Ah! Chincha!" You muttered to yourself.
You bent over and reached into the oven, pulling out a misshapen cake. You had been trying to bake a cake for Jin's birthday, and you weren't the best chef in the world. How hard was it to bake a simple cake though? Apparently it was extremely difficult.
The cake you pulled from the oven had fallen in odd places. The cake that was supposed to be a cute circle, was now misformed and looked....awful in your opinion.You sighed and looked at the clock, you didn't have time to try and make another cake. You could go and buy one though? At least it would look pretty, and you still thought of the older man on his birthday.
You decided to go with that, leaving the cake on the counter to cool before you attempted to throw it away. You also left the candles, and template that said "happy birthday jin oppa", on the counter. You planned on cleaning up the materials when you got back from the store.
You put on a pair of boots and grabbed a thick jacket as it was cold and snowing outside. The boys didn't really like you walking alone, especially in cold weather. They always said you'd get sick in the cold, but you always said they were overthinking everything.
Walking out the dorm with your purse, you forgot to put on a scarf and gloves, but decided against going back in to get them. You had a mission to accomplish and not a lot of time!
It took you longer than you expected to walk the distance to the store. The heavy snowfall made your walk difficult. You had to basically march, pulling your feet from the snow with each step you took. You were also trying to cover your face in your jacket, the cold air nipping at your unprotected face.
When you finally reached the store, a lot of the fakes were already bought and sold. Thankfully they had a cute cake you liked left, even if it was decorated in pink. Jin's nickname was pink princess, so it was fitting?"Give me this cake please," You said a bit awkwardly. Your Korean was at a stand still almost in your learning process . You were having a difficult time learning more new phrases and so you'd yet to master the phrase 'can I have this one,' which would sound much more pleasing. You also still spoke with an American accent, unable to really master the pronunciations of many words.
"Oh yes, this one is very pretty and delicious. What is the occasion?" The shop keeper asked as she pulled the cake from the cooler/counter.
"For birthday. I made cake, but cake is not good." You laughed with embarrassment as your purchase was rung up.
"Here you are. I hope the birthday celebration goes well!" She wished you good luck as you bowed and said goodbye.
Again, your trip back to the dorm room was much longer than usual. With your marching walk and huddled face. You held the boxed cake close to your chest as you shivered in the cold, hoping to God you didn't catch a cold from this, the guys would never let you hear the end of it. Once you reached the dorm, you ran inside, taking off your shoes and setting the cake down so you could rub your face warm. "Y/n?!"
You heard Jimin's voice, it seemed like your market trip took much longer than expected. The boys were already back home, and you hadn't thrown away the old cake, or the old decorations you were going to use for the cake.
"Neh?!"
"Where have you been? You left your cell phone on the kitchen counter! Ya! You're face is all red, did you go outside without a scarf?!" Jimin started scolding you.
With a soft and quiet sneeze you whined a bit "Oppa! I had to go get a new cake from the store! I was baking for Jin Oppa, but the cake is bad!"
Jin walked over to where you two were, holding said bad cake, "You made this for Oppa?" He asked, beaming at the fact you wanted to make him a cake.
"oh...Neh. But it isn't good. Cake is all....ugly." You pouted and picked up the box, opening it and showing it to him "This one pretty. This cake good birthday cake."
Jin moved one hand from the cake he was holding to close the box of your store bought cake. "I love this cake." he gestured to the one you had tried to make.
"Why? Its ugly...."
"Because Dongsang made it. I don't care what it looks like, Y/n-ah. I am happy you tried, and wanted to make me a cake instead of just buying one to begin with. Please use this one." You couldn't help but blush as he took the cake you bought, and handed you the lumpy, fallen cake you had planned on throwing out. "I want this one," he smiled and walked off, towards the living room with Jimin. Leaving you flustered in front of the door.
"Oh-okay." You said to yourself, going back to the kitchen where you quickly decorated the original cake in frosting before putting the edible letters that spelled out "Happy birthday Jin Oppa" in Hangul on it. You were still amazed that Jin wanted this cake, fallen and lumpy. Now it looks even worse, in your opinion, with the frosting and letters that seemed to wave on the cake due to the misshapen form of the cake. You stuck the candles onto the cake and lit them before carrying the cake out the to living room where the boys were watching TV.
Jin smiled brightly at the sight of you, bringing the cake that was meant for him. "Cake for Jin Oppa. Happy Birthday!" You sat the cake down on the coffee table and fidgeted with your hands. "It isn't very good...." You started to say again only for the eldest man to cut you off.
"It is beautiful. Much prettier than the stores."
"You're just saying that." you pouted.
"No. I love it. Y/n made it all by herself just for me. Its beautiful, thank you." he kissed your left cheek before blowing out his candles and smiling again. "Alright, let's eat then?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After everyone had eaten the cake you made, which was actually pretty delicious despite the appearance, you cleaned up the mess. Taehyung volunteering to help you with the dishes. You sneezed cutely while you filled the sink up with warm water, your nose still a light pink color from being outside without enough protection from the cold. "Ya, are you okay?"
"Neh. I'm fine." You said, yet as soon as you stopped speaking you sneezed again.
"This is why you're supposed to bundle up in the snow!" Taehyung said, wagging a finger in front of you.
"Oh! I forgot, I didn't think it be that big a deal!" You whined, turning your head as you sneezed, again. "What are you-!" You're face turned a deep shade of red despite the fact you were already flush from what seemed to be an upcoming cold. Taehyung had placed his lips against your forehead, holding them there for a moment before pulling back, his brows knitted tightly together. "Mwo?"
"You have a fever Y/n-ah! I'll do the dishes, you go to bed right now!"
"Aniyo! I am fine!" you sneezed again, this time it was followed up with a small coughing fit.
"Am I going to have to make you?!"
You rolled your eyes, turning to the dishes and sticking your hands in the water to begin washing them. "Ya!"
You were suddenly looking at the ground, Taehyung had hoisted you over his shoulder, one hand gripping your legs, and the other pressing against your lower back so he could keep you from falling over. "Ya! Don't speak informally to your Oppa!"
You huffed as Taehyung started walking towards your bedroom, "What are you two doing?!" RM asked at the sight of you.
"Y/N is sick!"
"I am not!"
"She is! She has a fever, its because she went in the snow without a scarf on!"
"Taehyung! Put me down!" You tried squirmming so he would put you down, but the older and stronger man was prepared for your antics, pinching your sides until you stopped.
"Sick?" Yoongi popped up from his seat where he'd been doozing off.
"I'm fine!"
Yoongi came over to feel your forehead with his hand, "You are sick! You're warm!"
You groaned as Taehyung began his march towards your room once more. "To bed with you!" He said swinging your door open with a kick of his foot.
"Oppa! Stop this!" You continued to complain as he tossed you into bed and tucked you in.
"I'm going to get the cold medicine for you and you will take it! And then you are going to stay in bed and rest! Got it?!"
You couldn't explain the strange shiver that went down your spine at the sound of Taehyung behind so firm with you. But when he looked at you so sternly, and his voice seemed to hold an air of power as you told you what he was going to do, and telling you what you were going to do you nodded hesitantly. "Neh. I'll rest Oppa."
"Good, now I'll be back in just a minute." With that he turned to go and retrieve some medicine for you.
