The Start of Ash's Island Challenge... Or Not

Ash was ready to receive his Island Challenge amulet and start his Island Challenge in the Alola region. He had already caught a Rowlet and a Rockruff, so he was more than ready. He had already received a Z-Ring from the legendary Tapu Koko, but it had broke in a battle against the Tapu.

'Are you ready Pikachu? Let's go get our amulet from Kahuna Hala!'

With a determined 'pika!', they sprinted off to Iki Town, where Professor Kukui was waiting for him.

'Hey cousin! We don't know where Kahuna Hala is.' said the Professor. 'We think he may be praying to the Great Tapu, but we aren't sure. Think you can wait?'

'Of course I can wait!' Ash shouted. 'As long as I get my amulet, it's okay!'

They waited, Ash training up his pokémon and Kukui asking around about Z-Moves. Finally, one of the villagers shouted, 'Kahuna Hala is back! The one chosen by the Tapu has returned!'

'Ah Kukui, welcome back to Iki. I was listening to the words of the wind, and they said I was needed.' The Kahuna said. He was a tan, grey haired man, with a belt around his well fed stomach, and a blue shirt under his yellow overcoat.

Kukui nodded. 'Yeah, Ash here wants to start his Island Challenge.'

'And where do you come from young Ash?' the Kahuna asked.

People had started to come out from their houses to see the new person starting their Island Challenge.

'I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, and I wish to go on the Island Challenge!' Ash said loud and clear.

Hala nodded. 'Very well.' He then spread his legs wide. 'Now, Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town, are you older than eleven years of age, before I give this amulet?'

Ash froze. Older than eleven? 'Ah, well no, but – '

'No buts! The Tapus would curse you if you went on your Island Challenge before you are of age! I will not give you a Island Challenge Amulet!' The Kahuna declared.

Ash was shocked. 'I can't go on my Island Challenge?' He squeaked.

'Do you want to be cursed by the Tapus, boy?' Ash started to shake his head, but then changed his mind and nodded.

'I was gifted a Z-Ring by Tapu Koko!' Ash argued.

Hala laughed. 'Our Tapu Koko is a fickle creature. It only wants to battle.'

'Only wants to battle?' Ash slumped. 'Can I go on my Island Challenge?'

'No.' Kahuna Hala said.

This popped into my head. If the anime followed the games, that would mean Ash would have to be 11 to go on the Island Challenge. Just a reminder, if any one would like to work on this with me, DM me. I will give you the credit.
