Saturday is by far going to be the greatest day of my week. After the movie two nights ago at Simon's house he asked me to meet him at the mall on Saturday before noon so he could show me how amazing it truly is and how I should never ever doubt it. And because I was confused he cleared things up for me, and it IS an official date. I didn't really mean to say yes, but I couldn't remember the other word at the time. 'No' is such an easy word to forget when you're gazing into the glittery contact-eyes of a cute boy with a bad reputation. Simon Strood and I are officially having our first date. Tomorrow is Saturday, and there has never been a longer Friday in the history of Fridays. Today has been so long I got so board of day dreaming in class I almost decided to pay attention. But of course I didn't, don't worry. When school finally ended Simon drove me home (which caught the attention of many people in our school) and told me he'd see me tomorrow. I told him that the mall is about four miles away from my house, not a terrible walk, but I'd get sweaty and out of breath, so he agreed instead to pick me up and drive us both instead of meeting me there.
"So tomorrow is going to be your first date ever?" My sister asks and I nod. Sitting in our room now waiting for the sun to set completely I can hardly stop talking about Simon, but Emily doesn't show any sign of aggravation. "I have a boyfriend" she says suddenly, and I'm stunned. "Really?"
"Yeah he asked me to be his girlfriend last month. His name is Jared. He has an older brother in your grade actually. Anyway, Jared invited me to play some video games at his house tomorrow and I was wondering if you could ask your boyfriend to drop me off there on your way to the mall" Emily says keeping her eyes away from my gaze. that's how she asks for things, She gets embarrassed when she can't do something completely on her own, so when she does have to ask for help she keeps her eyes completely trained on something else. "I'll ask him" I say and she smiles but continue sot avoid my gaze. "An Simon's not my boy friend, we're just going on a date" I say and she laughs. "Jared and I haven't gone on a date, he just asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted" Emily says in a boasting tone. I can't help but snort out some laughter. Oh Middle school relationships. They never really work out, they just end in random awkward break ups, and besides what kind of dates can you go on in middle school/ Ask your mom to drive you Chuck E. Cheese? Hold hands in the hallway when no one is looking? I used to think all relationships were a waste of time, but middle school ones are the biggest waste. But I wont say anything to Emily, because she seems happy about it and she probably wouldn't care about my opinion anyway.

What kind of thing do you wear on a date to the mall? It's noon and I'm sitting on my bed looking around the room at all of my scattered clothes. Everything I own is spread out across the carpet, but almost nothing looks even remotely cute enough to wear on a date with Simon Strood. Emily gave me her opinion, of a pink shirt and a little white skirt, but I don't want to look all girly, I want to look like I'm on a date with Simon Strood the baddest bad boy in School. So I decide on a frilly black tank top that is shorter in the front and reaches down to my but in the back. It has red hearts on the front and looks a lot better on Emily, but it doesn't look so bad on me. I match it with some jean shorts and black sneakers. natural looking makeup and no purse, I don't really have anything to carry other than my wallet which contains the forty dollars of birthday money I've saved from my aunt and uncle. They send me Eighty dollars every year for my birthday, but I've never been really good at saving it.
Emily was wearing a black skirt with a T-shirt that said "I fight like a Girl" In black letters. She was wearing black combat boots and I had to admit she looked like every middle school boy's dream middle school girl. Being sisters with Emily was like having a much smarter, much prettier, much more talented twin. We share everything we've got and if she doesn't like something, she gives it to me. Her clothes always fit me but never look the same on me as they do on her. She just makes things look good.
