All the Beautiful Things is a book I originally designed to be a short story, but once I created my characters and came up with a plot line, I realized that the idea I came up with was a lot deeper than 10 chapters could cover, and I needed to expand my foundation in order to create the work you are about to read. I paused the production of Ri & Ash to work on this, and though I regret nothing, I do plan to get that one back into gear as well!
This story is my first book that involves much more complex characters than my other works. Each character is very different, and I wanted everyone to stand out in their own way. As readers, I believe you all deserve to connect with any of the characters in a personal way! For the first time in ages, none of the identities in this book belong to people I know in real life. They are my very own.
In order to keep the story personal, I made my cast small. The only characters shown in this story are Everest, Calum, Casper, Mr. Lester, and Mei. The only other characters are very minor and appear in 1-2 chapters each and do not really have their own "touch" because they are not as important.
WARNING: there are a few scenes of abuse in this book. Not many, but they are necessary to tell Calum's part of the story. Please don't let this keep you from reading, as I assure you that the scenes do not take place often.
The theme songs for this book are titled "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by 5 Seconds of Summer and the acoustic version of "Long Way Home" by the same band.
Without further ado, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed creating it, it's been a wonderful journey so far and I imagine it will continue to be :)
