Lunch fight

It's been all through the third period and I'm about to head out for lunch. We surprisingly didn't have an intervention but I wasn't going to argue. I was about to walk out of the classroom when my math teacher, Ms. Figueroa called my name.

"Tzviya,  please come to my desk I want to talk."

In my mind, I was thinking,

"Shoot shoot shoot, does she know about the note? Wait no...does she?..."

I walked over to her and set a math textbook down and pointed to a chair gesturing for me to sit down. I sat and she looked at me very seriously. She had black thick nerdy but cute classes like me and she took them off and set them down on her desk and said,

"Tiz. What is up with you? You haven't been paying attention and you normally really like this class. What is up?"

"DAMNIT!!"

"You don't have to tell me but if you can I would like to know."

I took out the posted note out of my pocket and handed it to her. She unfolded the crumbled tiny piece of paper and read it. She didn't have any expression on her face and she set the note down in front of me and said,

"Who gave this to you?"

"I don't know."

I replied.

"Well, when did you get this note?"

She put her glasses back on looking at me as if this was deadly serious.

"I got it in the period right before this one, second period."

"I see. Do you have a bad relationship with most of the kids in that class?"

"No. That's just it. I mean I don't think so, my best friend Irene is in that class."

"Well, it's good to know you have a friend in a class but do you mind if I look into this?"

"Go ahead. Keep the note, it's clearly causing me to not focus on class."

I got up from the seat and grabbed my backpack and started to head out. She really is my favorite teacher but did I really trust her with this sorta deal? I don't know I mean I know her personally from Ariel Theater but it's whatever.  I walked into the lunch table areas and I sat down with my friends but Irene wasn't there.

"Where is Irene?"

I asked.

"Oh, she's in the office."

MJ replied.

"Why?"

"She was in a fight with some of the boys in your guy's second period. Something about a mean note?"

"Oh..."

"Yeah. I feel kinda bad for whoever got the note. But it's none of my business so I'm just leaving it alone."

My head dropped and I took out my lunch and stared at it. I didn't eat it. Everyone was talking about me and that's all I could hear, their laughs, yelling, I couldn't focus on one thing so I focused on it all. Then somebody touched my shoulder. I quickly looked up and saw the principle and suddenly it was quiet except for his words.

"Come with me."

I quickly packed up my stuff and went with him to his office, this wasn't the first time I have been in an office but still, I was worried. As I looked inside of his office I saw Irene all beaten up.

"IRENE!!!"

"Don't! Leave her be."

The principal said and I sat down in a chair next to Irene.

"So what is this about a mean note?"

I slouched a bit and set my backpack down next to me knowing this would be a while.

"Well?"

"I-.."

Irene cut me off and said,

"Some kids in the second period gave Tiz here a mean note."

"What did it say? Do you still have the note?"

He looked at me and I shook my head 'no'.

"Ms. Figueroa has it."

"Why does she have it?"

"She asked me why I wasn't paying attention in class and I told her."

"Do you remember what the note said?"

"Yes. It said, "Stop being a stuck up smart ass!". Excuse my language."

"You're excused. So you don't know who wrote it and it said, "Stop being a stuck up smart ass." on it?"

"Yes."

I replied.

"I do."

Irene said quickly after I said 'yes'. Did she really know who wrote that note?

"Who was it, Irene?"

"Some of The Boyz."

"Who are The Boyz?"

"It's like a little gang type thing. They hit on some of the girls a lot and they like wear their pants halfway down to their knees and have their grey and white stripped hoodie's with maybe a peircing or something and then their short hair."

"OH, those boys. Yes, they're supposed to be 9th graders now but they couldnt pass 7th grade. Still cant so they formed a little gang almost."

"Yeah."

"Ok. I'll look into this some more. Thank you two for coming into my office and giving me this information."

"Thank you"

I and Irene replied. We walked out of the office and headed to our next classes. I had one near hers so we walked together.

"You got into a fight with The Boyz?"

"Yep."

And that was the end of our conversation.
