december 21st
When Shawn ripped open the curtains, I felt a sharp pain to my head – almost like a hangover.
I turned over and realized I had slept in his apartment and had not returned home last night which was extremely unlike me.
I sleepily turned over and tried to look for a clock of some sort but there was nothing that could tell me the time.
Shawn launched himself back onto the bed and rested his head in his palms beside my face. He looked at me and smiled, as if it was his lucky day.
"I hate to wake you up but it's almost midday," he laughed as he checked his watch.
I turned over and looked at the window, noting how the sky outside was dark. I could see that the snow was still falling in mounts in the city.
I yawned and rubbed my eyes. I honestly didn't want to get out of bed because I could already tell that it was going to be freezing once I did. I looked to Shawn, who was shirtless and at the window just admiring the view of the city. My body froze over just imagining the coldness of his chest.
The hairs on my arms began to rise as I stumbled out of bed, which made me grow small goosebumps along my arms.
Shawn turned around and made his way to me. He clutched my arms with his arm hands and looked deep into my eyes.
"What?" I asked in a laugh.
"You actually have the best pair of eyes that I reckon I've ever seen," he smiled. He shortly looked down and then returned his admiring gaze back to my eyes. I felt my cheeks go hot at the thought of him contemplating my eyes.
He ran his hands down to reach mine, and both of us smiled at each other in unison.
A loud knock on the door ruined the moment and Shawn quickly pushed me behind his shoulder so that he could answer the door without me being seen.
As he walked closer to the door, the person on the other side knocked again. This time it was a sequence of knocks, almost as if it was a beat.
Shawn laughed and opened the door quickly, noticing that it was his two security guards that knew the secret knock.
They entered the room and quickly gazed over to me.
"Shawn we get that you're on a break at the moment, but it's probably good for you to get out in public today and meet some fans. They've been waiting downstairs for so long just for you to come out this morning," one of them said. I nodded.
"Of course," he exclaimed, taking a quick swig of his water bottle on the nightstand, "Let me just put a shirt on and then I'll come down with you."
I sort of shuffled over towards the door. It was quite awkward and I was unsure of what I was supposed to do. Shawn went over to his suitcase and dragged out a blue top and a black sweater.
"Wear white," I smiled.
He quickly looked at me and shrugged, throwing back the two clothing items to swap them for a long sleeve white sweater.
I grinned at myself proudly. I had never seen him in white before but god damn.
He quickly threw it over his head and then made his way to where I was standing beside the door.
"I'll just take Chloe back to her apartment, I'll be back soon guys," he smiled and quickly gave them a wave before following me out of his own apartment. He rested his hand on the back of my waist as he walked me back to my apartment across the hallway.
I unlocked my door and took a step in. He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me in for a quick kiss on the lips.
"I'll see you later yeah?" he asked.
I nodded. Of course he would. We both had nothing else to do.
I kissed him softly, leaving a small smile after he drew away.
He walked back to his apartment, and that was the last I saw of him for the morning.
**********
I got into bed quite late, and I left a key out in a special spot for Shawn. He knew where it was and I never moved it. When I was drifting off to sleep, I heard him come in as he murmured lyrics of some sort to himself.
The sound of shuffling around my apartment made it apparent he was slipping his shoes and shirt off like he always did before bed. Then I heard him start running, and he leaped onto the bed where I wasn't lying.
I giggled too loudly when he hit the mattress face down. He came up for air from the pillow and chuckled to himself.
He threw himself under the covers and snuggled up behind me as he always did. It wasn't cold under the sheets anymore.
When I turned over to talk to him, he was already asleep with soft snores erupting from his nose. I smiled and lay back down in the bed beside him.
Three days until Christmas.
Three days until he left.
