Violet Eyes

She painted a door over her heart
With a lock right in place
No one could reach her now
This had become her escape

Hues of gold
Danced on the walls
of the gilded cage
That kept her safe

She ran around fearlessly
with determination as a shield
against flaming arrows
and words so easily spilled

Violet lines stained the traces
that sparkled in her eyes
Her eyes that shone and glinted
when awaiting paradise

She knew the road was rutted
Winding and bending the rules
But fearless comprehension
Outdid the greatest fool

So with wisdom and love
the trail was never too much
She painted her soul with memories
that only beauty could ever touch
