When I wake up I sometimes forget that I’m on earth. Since my bedroom is a closet, it’s really dark, like my home planet. I half expect for Kamui to come in a say “Get up, Kagura, breakfast is ready.” But then I hear the faint breathing of Sadaharu, and remember, he’s not here anymore. He left me, with my dying mother, all alone. I sit up and slide open the closet door, and head into the kitchen to make some egg over rice. I eat this every morning, but for some reason have never gotten tired of it. It’s about 6am and Gin-chan is still asleep. The sun was starting to rise, and when I opened up the window, I looked up at the sky, which is slowly turning from a light pink to a light blue, and think how wonderful it is that everyday I get to see this sky I once yearned for, without any rain falling from it or dark clouds covering its beauty. I take my bow of egg over rice and sit at the dining room table. As I begin to eat, the door to Gin-chans room slides open, and out steps the half asleep so called adult.

“Good morning Gin-chan. I made you some breakfast.” I say. He nods and makes his way to the kitchen, and comes out with a carton of strawberry milk and the bowl of food I made him. He sat down across from me and starts to drink the milk, and then he stares at me.

“Kagura, today Shinpachi and I have to do a job that’s not suited for a girl like you.” He says, with a tone of voice that is way too serious for Gin-chan.

“You know I’m no ordinary girl, I could probably beat you in a fight.” I say half laughing “Nothing is too dangerous for me.” He stares at me a little longer and folds his arms across his chest.

“I’m not saying you’re not strong enough, I’m saying it’s not a job for a girl.” He

pauses and then unfolds is arms. His once serious face turns into the usual relaxed face he always has on. “Shinpachi and I, are going to work at a host club today. They were short two members so they asked us to fill in for them. You are a girl, so you can’t be a host even if you wanted to.” I was taken by surprise that the oh-so important job that I could not do was working at a host club, but that is what is to be expected by Gin-chan. Nobody really takes him seriously.

“Okay, now that you understand, I’ll be leaving now.” He sits up and runs out the door, slamming it behind him.

“He is such a little kid.” I say out loud. Well whatever. I might as well take Sadaharu for a walk. I walk over to my room/closet and drag Sadaharu by his leash out side. I walk down the stairs and start my ten minute walk to the park. When I get there, I see someone sleeping on the bench I always sit on. By the way he looks, his black uniform and sandy hair, I know right away who it was. The sadist. ‘This is a great time to pull a prank on him.’ I think as a smile creeps on my face. I walk over quietly and take out my umbrella. I aim it so the bullet will shoot right past his ear. Hopefully it will scare him to death. Hopfully. I take aim and shoot the bullet out from the tip of my umbrella. It was directed where I wanted it to go, but within a second the stupid sadist whips out his sword and stops the bullet in its tracks.

“Nice try china, but you’ll have to try harder next time.” That stupid sadist picks on me all the time and it really pisses me off.

“What do you mean nice try?” I smirk and he looks at his sword, which had broken into a million pieces. He seems mad now. He launches from his sleeping position and tries to tackle me, but I kick him in the stomach and he gets thrown back a good couple of feet, his back slamming against a tree. The other people in the park stop and stare at us, clearly frightened. I turn around and smile my sweetest smile.

“Its okay, I would have to hit him harder in order for him to die.” I say in a little girl voice. They continue to stare, but then walk away like nothing happened. I pick up my umbrella and start to walk away, but then a powerful blow on my back sends me flying into a tree.

“Hey china, I might have to arrest you for interrupting my duties.” He says, smirking.

My back hurt so much but I can’t admit defeat. I stood up and said, “Who do you think you are? Rocky?” I walk towards him slowly, ready for anything. My mind was blank, all I could feel was the determination to defeat this sick bastard. Maybe my mind was too blank, because before I realized it, I was standing in broad daylight, completely exposed. “Where’s my umbrella?!” I said out loud. I desperately looked around and saw that Sadist had it.

“Give… it… back…” I said weakly. My vision was getting blurry. The worst part was that now he knew what my weakness was; sunlight.

“I’ve always wondered why you always carried this umbrella with you everywhere you went.” He said examining my purple umbrella. “I thought it was a weapon, well, it does shoot bullets like a gun, and it’s really durable. But Kondo and Hijigata thought that you were just self-conscious about your skin.” As he continued to blabber on about my umbrella, I use the little strength left I have to walk towards him, to get my umbrella back. I was in front of him, glaring up at his irritating face and noticed how he wasn’t glaring back. In fact, he wasn’t even looking at me. His attention was on someone, or something behind me. Then he looked back down at me and said with the straightest face ever;

 “Looks like you’re not the only one that carries an umbrella on a sunny day.”
