"Hey Nevaeh!" That was my best friend, Gavin. And I know what you're thinking... "this is just another one of those love stories where the girl and her guy best friend fall in love and live happily ever after," but that's not true this time. I'm not exactly Gavin's type because well... I'm a girl.
"Hey Gavin!"
"Where to today? Another trip to the park?"
"You know we have school and I'm not about to ruin my perfect attendance record because you want to spy on some hot guys who choose to skip school too."
"I was hoping you forgot about school but then I remembered who I was taking to."
Gavin was actually really good looking. He was fit, he had black hair, brown eyes. But it always seems that good looking and nice guys are always gay.
"We better hurry before we're late, we have select chorus tryouts this morning. And I still can't believe you got me to do this. I already know I won't make it in, I'm terrible at singing," I said.
"That's so far from true. You have the best voice I've ever heard."
"Don't try and sweet talk me so that we miss school because it won't work."
"Ugh fine. But seriously you're amazing."
We walked to the bus stop and waited for about five minutes for the bus to get there. It was pretty cold out so I had on my jacket, scarf and gloves.
"I really hate Mondays," Gavin told me.
"I know, you complain every Monday at the same time while waiting for the bus."
"Well I don't understand how you could be so chipper this early."
"It's not even that early."
"Yes it is, it's... 7:15."
Just then, the bus pulled up and Gavin and I walked on.
We sat down in a seat together and Gavin says "look behind us, a few rows back to the left."
"Why am I looking at Nick?" Nick was a nerdy kid who's always reading.
"Oh, I meant to the right."
I looked again but this time to the right and it was Nathan Smith. He was only the most popular guy in the 11th grade. He was the football captain, the basketball captain and even the baseball captain. He had black hair, blue eyes and the best smile. I guess you could say I had a crush on him but who wouldn't?
He was just sitting there listening to music but I have no idea why he was riding the bus. He never rode the bus, he has his own car.
"Doesn't he look good today?" Gavin said.
"I guess so." That was an understatement. He looked amazing. Well he actually looked amazing everyday. I just never admit that to anyone... and by anyone I mean Gavin because let's face it... I don't have that many friends.
"Oh come on. I know you like him."
"How did you know that?"
"I wasn't 100% sure until just now."
"Well it doesn't even matter if I do because he's Nathan, the most popular guy in school and I'm just Nevaeh."
"Well he's crazy if he doesn't like you. You're perfect. If I wasn't gay I'd totally date you." I laughed when he said this.
