I wasn't sure what to think. I mean... could Nathan actually like me? No. He couldn't. I'm only Nevaeh. He's fricken Nathan Smith. He would never even think about ever liking me.
The rest of the school day flew by and before I knew it, it was time to go to the mall with Gavin and get me makeover. I have to be honest I was really nervous before about what Gavin had up his sleeve but now I'm super excited.
Gavin and I met up at the lobby in the school so we could walk out to the bus together. The bus ride was pretty short and Gavin and I just talked the whole time. Nathan was on but he just listened to his music the whole time in the back.
When we got to Gavin's house we changed into different clothes to go to the mall in, and yes I have clothes at my best friends house because I'm there more than I am at my own house.
I ended up wearing my Adidas outfit, Adidas sweatpants and an Adidas sweatshirt with Adidas sneakers. I know its not something I should really wear to the mall because well it's sweatpants and a sweatshirt but it was comfortable.
"Okay so the first place we are going is your eye doctors," Gavin told me.
"Why there?"
"Because you can get contacts instead of wearing those glasses all the time."
"What's wrong with my glasses?" I laughed a little to let Gavin know I was only joking because I knew that they weren't the best things to wear. They made me look nerdy and I always had to push them up.
"Umm... yeah we're going to get you some contacts right now."
"That's probably a good idea."
We walked to the eye doctors because it wasn't that far away, It took about fifteen minutes to get there.
We checked in with them and apparently Gavin has been planning this for awhile because I already had an appointment set for 4 o'clock. Right after we checked in the eye doctor came right out and had me go back there with him.
He already had some different brands of contacts out on his desk in my prescription.
"Okay, I'm going to have you try this brand first and let me know if they feel alright." It took me awhile to get the hang of it and actually get it in. It was a little weird just having one in so he had me put the other one in as well.
I finally got them both in and he said "how do they feel?"
"They feel good."
"Okay, great. Can you see okay, nothing is blurry?"
"I can see fine."
"Okay, I'm going to have you wear those for a trial pair, if they cause any discomfort at all let me know and we can try out a different brand." After he said that h showed me a few things like how to tell if the contact is inside out. He also had me take them out and put them back in just to show him that I could do it.
"Alright, they seem good right now so you can just try them out for a few days before I order some for you for a whole six months supply," he told me.
"Okay, sounds good."
Gavin and I left shortly after and Gavin kept telling me how great I look with no glasses. It honestly made me feel pretty good to not have glasses on my face. I think it made me feel a little more confident.
We walked to the mall and Gavin took me into Sephora and I never realized how much money it is to buy just one thing from there. I didn't pick anything up that was more than $25. I bought a mascara that was called 'better than sex,' a lipstick that was just the right shade, not too dark and not too light, I also got a contour stick and concealer stick. It ended up being like $60. Gavin said I didn't get enough makeup but I said it was too expensive to get more and he said that we could go to Ulta Beauty right after.
I got quite a bit from Ulta because some of it was on sale and a lot less expensive than Sephora. I got an eye shadow pallet, highlight pallet, foundation, color corrector, and compact. I don't remember how much I spent but it was all worth it.
Gavin then took me to Charlotte Russ and I picked out a few shirts ad a couple pair of jeans. We went to a bunch of other stores too and I ended up spending over $200 on clothes but I used all my money and I don't ever go shopping so I had quite a bit saved. I even ended up getting a few different pairs of shoes.
After we were done at the mall Gavin said he had an appointment for me get my hair done.
We went to the hair salon and the lady that was going to do my hair and she asked me what I wanted done but instead Gavin said "whatever you thing would look best."
I had no idea what she was going to do. She died my hair... I will have no idea what color until she's done... for all I know I could have bright yellow hair when I walk out of here. She also cut my hair.
"Okay, I'm all finished."
I looked in the mirror and I have to say "I love it." It was amazing. I would have never thought this would have looked good on me but it really does. She did a balayage and the hair cut was mid length, long enough to fit in a pony tail but not braided because it was layered but I was okay with that.
"You look great," Gavin told me. He payed for the hair cut despite my many protests and I thanked him many, many times.
Gavin made me go home, practice my makeup, and figure out what I'm going to wear tomorrow. He also made me get my practice clothes and new cheer shoes out for cheerleading tryouts. I was ready for tomorrow and I was very excited to see what everyone thought.
I wonder what Nathan will think, or if he'll even notice.
